Hey guys, I've done 2 races so far and the pattern that I seem to notice is that I do very well in qualifying and start off really well, but then I start pitting and getting behind everyone and while I somewhat recover, I still end up behind where I should be.

What are pit stop strategies that you guys use to go ahead, not behind?

Thanks for your time!

Did you try to undercut other ppl?Because drivers who pit longer sometimes get ahead of drivers who pit earlier

You mean overcut. Undercut is when you pit earlier and it makes NO sense when refuelling is allowed in race.

No pitting springs to mind lol
Hard tyres can last 40 laps but the fuel tank only lasts for 37

That's funny Diogo, cause the account that you posted here with shows a brand new team that has never joined a league. Just jump right in and try things. Read the rules under the ? at the bottom of the main menu. Visit the forum and read the various topics about the things you want to know. Most info is already there if you look.

Well, what's a good setup in order to do successful overcuts? I just can't figure it out.

What usually works for me is using the tire compound that gives about 8% wear per lap for the first stint and the one that gives about 4% wear per lap for the second and third stints, but you could also use the more durable compound in the first stint, so you can make it longer and overcut, though you will not do as well in qualifying in this case.

The undercut mostly only works with supersofts on tracks where they do well, because ss are the fastest in the first few laps on their stint, sometimes by even one or two seconds. The weaknesses of the supersofts are their very high wear rate, which will see their performance fall off the cliff quickly, and inability to push harder on most tracks.

How the overcut works is like this: by staying out longer, you have more laps on a lighter tank, which could give you at least a second or two a lap on most tracks depending on the strategy. Harder tyres, especially Hards on tracks where they do well, benefit most from this as they usually have much less wear compared to softer tyres, so at the end of their stint, they have both light fuel and good performing tyres, allowing you to bang in some fast laps before you pit again. Alternatively, if you have for example, a ss-h-h strategy, the overcut could still work for the supersoft stint as the effect of staying out longer transfers over to the hards. The challenge with a longer stint associated with the overcut is that since you carry more fuel throughout it, it makes you a couple of tenths slower a lap compared to cars with less fuel. So if you do not manage your stint well, you will fall too far behind that the benefits of the overcut would not be able to offset the time lost.

At the end of the day, it's up to you the find the best strategy for yourself.

I accidentally logged in with an alternate Facebook account that was already logged on. I've done 4 races already in my real account and have tried a bunch of stuff.
