On the homepage it had a rain cloud, which i'm guessing is the live weather because in the past I see it change from wet to dry

On the setup page (doing laps) under tyre setup, it has a rain cloud. I do a lap and it changes to dry.

Why?

In the 5 minutes it took to do my runs (because of more errors :/) it went from always being a wet setup, to super softs going 3 seconds slower whereas the inters stayed the same sort of time, wets gained almost a second but was still slower than inters by 4 seconds.

I could analyse that

It was raining = wet track
It stopped raining = still wet track

It wasn't wet enough for wet tyres and wasn't dry long enough for dry tyres.
Setup it gave you was most likely for a dry track, but you never told us what the setup was or what the track was to have idea of what setup you got.

I know you love to think you know it all but please read it again

On the homepage its a rain cloud. Countless times I have went onto the strategy page to do my runs, under "try setup" it has a raincloud. I do my first run, the cloud changes to dry. There is no 3 hour wait before pressing the button, it is no more than 5 seconds. Before my first run it was raining, after my second run it has apparently stopped.

For example then I will go back to the homepage just to more or less refresh things. I go back to the setup page, Before I do my 2nd run, the rain cloud has re-appeared. I do my run, the dry cloud comes back afterwards. Don't tell me that that is correct. If it is correct then i'm glad this game is now free (unless you're a low level account and you don't want to wait 3 years to become competitive)

Tonight this was at Spa. It was a 20 something 20 something setup, on super softs doing a time that was 0.2 off 1st in practice who was also on super softs. I have played this game long enough to know that is a wet setup.

That bit is irrelevant to my main point though, which is the cloud that changes its mind every run.

It's no different from the temp being 31 & changing to 29 after the first run. Reload the page it jumps to 32, after 2nd run it drops to 30. Reload the page it's 31 after the 3rd run it's 31. It's a live weather feed it's going to have changes.

Does this look anything like the weather you experienced in practice and the race:

It's from a different weather channel but is spa from few hours ago

Well it must just be a coincidence then that when I reload the setup page it starts raining and then after I do a run it stops raining.

If anybody is ever in a rainy part of the world and would like some dry weather, let me know and i'll come and do a test run on one of my accounts. Who knew I could control the worlds weather huh?

Also how long does it take you to do runs if you're saying the temp and also weather can change lap by lap in practice? The temperature doesn't fluctuate every 10 seconds in the race like the weather does for me apparently correctly in practice. In races it changes one or two times max

Depends if works fine 3mintues to do 10runs or 10 minutes to do 10 runs when it has trouble looping back

This has (omfgz so coincidentally) just happened on another account at another track completely.

Suzuka. The screenies are in order of what I explained above. My first driver did his runs on a dry setup with everything perfect, although the times were about 7 seconds slower than I know them being on super soft. I understand that whatever it is may not clock yet that it is not officially raining. My 2nd driver did his second run on supers on his dry setup and all of a sudden that setup is completely wrong. Okay, I understand now that it is officially raining. After that run it says its raining as you see on the second screenie. On the 3rd screenie after my 3rd run, you see its telling me I need a wet setup however the cloud has gone back to dry.

That isn't right. That or Suzuka just had a 20 second typhoon. It clearly doesn't go to rain straight away so why would it go dry 20 seconds after it goes wet?

Nagoya Airport is giving

22°C/72°F light rain showers 02:30 to 04:00
22°C/72°F light rain & mist 22:30
But that was Wednesday 28th lol

Thursday 29th dry all the way to 12:30, 24 / 25°C Light drizzle for 30 minutes

You must be a God and control the weather!
It's currently 10:30 29th there, will see in 2 hours how good the Airport is at judging the weather

It would be better if we can see track wetness on the setup page just like we can see on viewer, Its always confusing when setup page shows cloudy but on weather tab it shows raining,

On the same race i had rain all the time the last 10 minutes before quali. Inters was faster by 5 secs so i used inters
I have seen tho on another race on the same 10 min
1st run = clouds but track wet
2nd = rain
3rd and the rest just clouds
I was asking the others and all said that at the same time was getting rain only.
that's the only thing that i maybe its a bug or server was too busy. for the rest i think rain weather and track conditions is something and should be something as its is in reality = Drivers feedback & track changes
So i am against to have info for something we cannot in reality.

i too observed some weird behavior bout rain consistency through out the igp, was doing setup and simultaneously opened a running race on the same track to check the water level, in race it was showing raining, but for my practice setup it was showing dry and allowed dry setup only, it was total surprise to me, and finally the race happened under a heavy rain luckily i did managed to do a wet setup practice lap under rain which gave me approx wet setup for my car [think so]

I experienced this as well during practice laps. Well, I know the weather delay is different for different servers and race instances. So my guesses are that either the main page and first practice weather comes from a general service server and after a lap it updates from the server your league and tiers instance is running on or the practice laps, at least after leaving and returning to the next race page(s), run on random servers altogether and report back this servers weather along with the other lap data.

So far I have only seen 4 different setup types
Dry
Inter
Wet light rain
Wet heavy rain
there is a big difference between them, lucky me got to see them all in the one practice session.

Rain is a lottery, conflicting information, no indication as to how heavy the rain is, no indication as to how much standing water on the track if it's raining before qualifying. You used to be able to take an educated guess at putting the cars on the correct tyres for qualifying/stint 1 by comparing setup times on inters and wets. Now you can't even do that because you try to run a practice lap and.... "Oops, there's another friggin' error, please try later"!!
Getting a bit tired of putting a lot of effort into managing the team to the best of my abilities only to have the races turned into a total lottery with a combination of bugs and useless/conflicting weather information.
Maybe before growing the game so quickly it would have been a good idea to ensure the infrastructure could cope.
I know it will never happen but...... Please bring back old iGP.
