The system, as it is, totally penalizes people who are not there to watch races and use 2D option. OK, I can understand this to a point, but with all the changeble weather during the day and keeping doing that on and on and on and on... it's a lottery for a person who is away one day to get something from this. You can instruct drivers to pit during the race, but they WILL leave grid on wrong tires, thank-you very much. After losing one lap, they will pit, but the race is ruined anyway. I wonder if it's even worth starting the race when this happens. This is utterly stupid in the end. In real F1 you are not allowed to start on dries on a soaked circuit. I suggest if this happens, at least for the dries on the wet, driver should change automatically to wets prior to the start of the race. OK, you are allowed to start on wets on a dry track, because you have at least 1 lap enough grip (of course not the same as the dry tire), but with slicks on a wet track, is nightmare. With the implementation of drying the circuit, you have to wait even more to switch to another type, so you instruct your driver to stay 3-4 laps on former tires (which are wrong). So, you are losing like over 1 minute in those laps, plus the extra stop, you'll lose on lap. Your race is kaput ! :|

+1 for automatic swapping of dry tyres for wets/intermediates if the race begins in the rain.
I am also unsure about what happens if you plan to use dry tyres at every stint and the rain continues through the race. Do intermediates get automatically fitted each time or do the dry tyres go on, you do a lap, and then you come in for wets again? Clarification appreciated.

I'd be against this. My example happened a couple of races ago, i kept checking the pre-race weather in Brazil, heavy rain all day, heavy rain, heavy rain, qualified on pole on inters (the only car to do so and the correct tyre choice before the 30 minute lock) then it went cloudy immediately afterwards so by the time the race came round, all the other people who were on the wrong tyre for the conditions just before the race, managed to luck into being on the right tyre for the start of the race. So i had to pit and the race was ruined, all because i put the effort in to check conditions just before the deadline.
I do think that with the 30 minute lock, alot can change and it is a bit stupid from both perpectives if you're on the wrong tyre. Best option imo would be that if you're on the wrong tyre, you get put onto the right tyre on the grid, but you drop to the back of grid in return. Would put you further back but it would save alot of time not having to do an extra pit stop.

This is actually a good idea, allow you ONLY if there is a massive change in weather and take a 10/20 place drop on the grid

And so, my race went as planned when I am not in front of computer. Meaning multiple change of weather during the race, like it was at tropics or something. As of result, all I got was a 10th and a 21st. I wound have got podium with minimal effort if I was in front of computer. This is not a management game anymore, this is simulator. Might as well even drive the cars.
