Hi all,

I've recently upgraded my car to DRS, and during 2D view I could not deselect the driver controlled option from the settings box.
I searched on the forum and noticed someone else had a similar issue, and it was stated as fixed.

Help! Thanks :D

you dont need to control DRS as you only use it if your 1second behind a driver once you get into the DRS zone. there is no limit to how many times you use it. so theres no need to control DRS. Na i dont no y you wud want to as your drivers are more than capable of useing it when they are allowed

ah I see, okay so why have they designed a DRS button on the main interface? I just wanted to feel involved :)

DRS was something that was manager controlled but it was causing too many problems so the button was disabled.
It may be something that will change in the future.

Thanks for bringing this up as I am sure it has confused a few new players

Its absolutely senseless to get that back. Why would I control it?
If its allowed, the driver uses it. If not - not.

What more?

It's in limbo at the moment. It was buggy and several testers saw no need for it, so it was disabled and going to be deleted until I stepped in to keep it. My view is that as long as there are circumstances where you might want to use it, it's worth keeping.

For example, let's say if you have one of your drivers behind the other in a queue of cars, and you want the car behind to pass the one in front (e.g. to get objectives money). You could take control of DRS and only activate it on the second car in order to ensure a clean pass.

It's easier to add a team talk function to let the other player through.

Pres 1 for: Alonso is faster then you. Do you understand? :)

lol Yeah and you lose money/points/xp if you let them pass on the final lap on the final straight.... :P

Just implement a button "let pass", where the driver would let the one behind him by. Thats much more senseful for a case like that in my opinion.
And thats what I would tell my driver as a manager anyway, if I would do something like that: "Let him by" and not "Do not use your DRS, so you can't overtake the one in front of you to let the one behind go by". Thats pointless.

@Tim
Kers is driver controlled, but can be switched to manager control in 2D
