Hi everyone,

i just saw the impressive and very good post from Joey McLane but it couldn't sort out my question completely (or i understood it not correctly).

My tyre temperatures always get too high if i have not selected the lowest push level. it happens with SS and hard tyres. On hard tyres it takes a little bit longer but finally i'm ending up with a too high temperature.

is it normal to always use the lowest push-level?

I have never raced at 11am but I'm guessing weather temperatures must be very high if you are burning up Hard Tyres. 38+ temp would cause using Hard tyres between push level 1 & 2 depending on the tracks tyre wear levels.

SS tends to go into the red pretty easily unless the track is really cool or even cold, just ensure they don't overheat to the point of melting and losing you 3s-4s+ a lap. While SS have a tendency to be in the red even in push 1 once temps get to around 20C depending on the track, they can still be good for your strategy due to their pace before the wear kicks in, which is why they're still often used. The pace drop of the SS once they get worn is the most dramatic however, so don't run them for too long or you risk not only having sluggish pace but even a puncture.

It should be easier to manage temps on Hards. Just don't push too hard on the straights, especially long straights, as you gain temps more on the straights in this game as opposed to corners. If there were brake temperatures, though...

In Italy it's especially easy to accidentally to overheat your tyres, even Hards. So watch out.

Hello, I have a question on the same topic. I'm losing races against a competitor that tends to do really long stints with SS. Yesterday in Singapor, he used SS for 11-12 laps with 27°C, while the wear was around 13-14% in free practices. I agree that the wear decreased with the laps, but he didn't even suffer from drop of pace! He doesn't have a tyres economy index higher than me.

I used to win quite a lot of races but I didn't win for 6 races now. This guy must have some tricks that I didn't get yet. Could it be linked to driver stamina? I know now that this is one of the most important point to have maxed.

Thank you for your help
