For example, I finish wining championship and instead of receiving car numbers #1 and 2# I got upper #20.
What is happening??
I've seen this also happening with other teams that got 2nd or 3rd overall.
Thanks!
Gustavo

I'd had this issue as well, where as a season winner I'll be moved to the bottom of the list. It's strange but think it may be an unintentional bug. I will record it so Jack can see it later. It's never bothered me though, I don't pay attention to the car numbers.

To tell the truth, I prefer high numbers, because in most of tracks (except Australia, China, Great Britain I think) higher number pit before, so new tires don't get too cold!

In Joey's advanced guide, in the section about fuel economy, he mentions pit posistion being related to car number. This pit posistion can affect how you fuel your cars with early pit posistion being preferred for lower fuel load. Often, if not always, the first two finishers in a tier championship are moved to lower posistion in the rankings before the first race of a new season giving their cars higher numbers. I always assumed this was intentional so that other teams would be able to take advantage of the preferred pit posistion. But I have yet to see it affect the outcome of a seasons championship.
