Driver Academy

I have all my pilot academy at level 11. I think I should not be able to find 1 tokens with low talent, and my academy is 11. In fact, all my headquarters is level 11 and I bought 500 tokens to speed up the process.

Today I lost 42 tokens only in my gym and that's not fair. I was very unmotivated, because I still had 83 Tokens and now only 41, and I still had two very bad drivers. What is the purpose of the academy, and even at high level I still get bad drivers?

I hope you can return my 42 tokens that I lost, because I feel cheated, and I spent money to speed up the gym process, and the return I had was similar there is a level 1 gym.

Hi Nando, the youth academy allows you to find better drivers as the facility increases in level, but it does not guarantee finding drivers with high talent every time. I spend one token per day on my youth academy and I often find drivers with talent between 10-17 and several who come along with talent 18 and 19. My youth academy is level 15.

The simulator's function is to boost the progress a driver makes when they are trained. The gains made during training are very noticeable when making a comparison from a level 1 simulator vs. a level 11 simulator. However, as drivers advance in level and comes closer to matching your manager level, the progress of training becomes more difficult.

You should consider the aspect of finding a top talent driver to not be as easy as you'd like it to be. It's a management game, as you say. If it was easy to find highly talented drivers through the youth academy then everybody would be spending tokens on it and have their own talented drivers. It only took you 15 tokens to find two talent 17 drivers. If you spent more tokens on scouting than building facilities I bet you could have found one talent 20 driver, maybe even 2. It'd take a lot more tokens though.

Agreed with Yunus. It seems the chances of finding a higher Talent driver from the YDA increase with the YDA's level as well. This is one of the reasons why the YDA is considered a "late-game" building, the other reason being that if you had a higher manager level, you could train drivers faster and have a higher training cap.

As such, you will find there are plenty of high level managers with 20 Talent drivers that have really cheap salary (around 300k per race+, as salary is cheaper when your driver is lower leveled, and drivers from the YDA start at levels 4-5 before being trained up). This is because they are at the level where they can fully take advantage of the YDA.
