Is it more accurate to take fuel amount per lap from practice laps or from the stint selection?

The fuel consumed during a practice lap is the amount of fuel that would be consumed on a neutral push level.

You can use that as a rough guide on how much fuel consumption will be from that if you don't intend on using a neutral push level.

If you're going to push hard or very hard, helps to have more fuel compared to what's shown on practice laps. If you've done enough races you can look at your Team History to see the fuel numbers you've had in the past as well.

When looking at team history, just remember that your car/driver have to be near the same in order to get best predictions.

The practice laps are more accurate but often slightly lower than a lap in the race at similar average push level, probably because in the race the laps tend to be faster, which poses a certain risk of underfueling.

The strategy tab, after doing practice laps, is usually off by a larger margin and it usually overfuels. It seems it adds a certain amount of fuel to give a good chance the fuel lasts for the intended stints even if a manager is not live managing and the circumstances like weather change.
