We are here in Melbourne once again for the Start of the Third Season for the IGP FMR Championships. Now I can't tell you how excited I am to see this Championship through, if it is anything like last season we are in for a heck of a fight. We got some new faces joining the Divisions and Old hats making a return, but there is still time to submit your Application to the championship listings if you still wish to join a competitive league.
With Practice already underway and so far we see three newcomers topping the times in the Rookie Division, could be a close match between Martin Carroll's Team, Carroll GP; Urban Ciber's Team, Laguna GP Racing and Noah Huffman's team, BMW Red Bull Racing. Some good time's in so far, with the top 6 drivers averaging 1:26.154, with !st and 6th being separated by just half a second. But then we have yet to see a wheel from some of the old faces, so it could all turn around for them, either way it could be a battle to watch with these three.
If we take a look at our Pro Division Times however we see an new story. The two dominant forces of last season, Cruz Crew, led by Mike Carter, and Green Mile, led by Demetrius Landon, seem to have been swamped by the competition this season, in Practice times we see that Demetrius' team are languishing down the table in 9th and 10th, while Mike Carter's drivers only managing 2nd and 3rd as they get thrashed by Natalia Frey's Dylan Mansell for Blood Lines. Diogo Simoes has gained a new contract for this season and with it a new name for their team, they are no longer Scuderia Ferrari F1, but now Benfica F1 Team, and that new contract is certainly working for them so far, storming passed last years rivals to be in a tight battle with Adam The Bassist's, SL Racing Team. We have to give a mention to the two new teams to the Pro Division this season, Matt Dduke, who has yet to assign his team an official name just yet so on record his team name shows as, mattdj77408122909; And finally M Frmn heading the Puputan team, both teams have set some decent times, but the real question is, can they hold their own when it's lights out?
Finally we find the times for our Elite Division, though Both teams are returning teams, we have only seen Paul Skyeladder's Drivers set any time at all and even then, they seem not to be pushing to their fullest extent. Perhaps they are waiting for Kalan Nelson's team to take a few laps before really showing their colours, or perhaps with winning the Elite Constructors Championship last season they have just become far too relaxed. Only time will tell if any of this is true.
Don't forget folks there are still plenty of spaces left to enter, please submit your applications as soon as possible.
And we'll be right back after a few words from our sponsors.
