Moved Bruno's thread to this thread that existed already about time change.

Bruno, time doesn't change automatically as Rik said, you have to do it yourself.
Time change takes 24h before it has effect, so you should make this change already on Saturday if you want it to take effect on your Sunday race.
More information in the rest of this topic :)

I need to know whether the time of races are going to go 1 hour forward or one hour backwards because I honestly have no idea! I know the clocks are all going one hour backwards but I have no idea how this will affect the time of races...

Whatever your race time is you need to change it today to +1 hour before your race starts today. This will make sure your race start time stays at your current race start time with the clocks going back an hour tonight.

If the league host doesn't adapt the race time then the races will start one hour sooner. If your devices timezone is configured correctly then the game should detect the change, if you haven't disabled it in options, and show that new race time after the change correctly, though.

@M

I have my start of the championship Sunday at 23:00 if I move L time to 24:00 passes the race to me the next day????

OK, I changed the time before the last race, moving it forward by 1 hour, which also moved us forward by 1 day due to the fact that we race at 23:30. Now the clocks have changed, the time has gone back to 23:30 but the day is saying Monday. How can this be so?
I'd appreciate if someone could help to sort out this issue, thanks

hi, sorry for being new, how long will the race time be the wrong time? I know that in other games, the hours were off for a week before the server switched daylight savings too, is that the case for Igp? Or does Igp never switch daylight savings? I mean literally never?

iGP never changes time automatically, internally it always uses GMT.
The league host is responsible for adapting the race time to daylight saving changes, so how long it takes depends entirely on your host.
Note that many regions in the world don't change time, so also not all leagues will decide to change time. And that diversity throughout the world is exactly why iGP doesn't do any automatic change.

I got it wrong and looks like my race will start 2 hours before it should.

It should run at 17:00
Can any moderator please change this to normal or at least get the race rerun for the next day?

Moderators don't have the power to reschedule or rerun races, but a league host can request this in this dedicated topic.

Omg, its simple, the game should simply be able to change the time using the hosts location.

You can download a free app for websites u make yourself so surely that tracks time and country of members so surely this game can?

Yes, it is as simple as u make it sound, so i suggest u write the program and send it to jack

It's not simple for various reasons. I've posted more information on timezones here: https://igpmanager.com/forum-thread/17390

The audience for iGP Manager is international and many managers (even within the same league) do not adjust the clocks at the same time, and some time zones don't utilise DST changes at all. For this reason we don't move the time with the host, or with any country. We operate on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), an internationally recognized fixed timezone standard.

The programming itself might be not difficult, but then the hosts that don't want to change their racing time have to adapt manually and the hosts that want to change it at a different date have to change it twice even. So you have wasted time to do add an additional function just to end up with the same situation. Also you'd have to ask additional information from the hosts as currently the location is only country I believe, and not even the real country you're living in at that but the one you want your team based in.

Anyway, it's likely that from next year on even the EU is dropping out of that useless time change madness.
