I'm sorry but I still don't get the entire point (Tony). All drivers push hard at some point in every race aswell.. It makes less sense having auto qual pushing if the push in races isn't auto aswell.
I see why you might be confused in terms of the game. In real life, though, track position is critical and unless teams have given up entirely on the season, or are low on funds and equipment and so forth and don't want to risk an accident or parts breakage, they will push as hard as possible in qualifications. Since iGP doesn't HAVE accidents or parts breakages (in qual at least), those two justifications go out the window, and the cost justification is similarly out the window because the manager gets charged for race prep with no consideration of qualifying push level at all.
In real races, faster drivers have to deal with slower drivers in front of them all the time, particularly on the starts. So the problems many of these guys are complaining about are actually quite realistic. I do, however, think that they have a point by saying that the fact that a driver can get away and dominate consistently if the rest of the field is temporarily held up. Hopefully, the new design system (and possibly some tweaking to in-race wear and tear) will help solve that.
