Thank you for the very well written respone Andrew. Good to see our constructive critisim isn't falling on deaf ears. I also respect that you openly admit some stuff i this game are simply wrong and need fixing, unlike some people who feel this game is 100% perfect, LOL.

A post like yours is why I want this game to be as good as it can be because it has people behind it who know what it should be.

It's posts like that that can make it easy to come up with an excuse for a jobless person like me to consider renewing their yearly subscription. Because when things do work, the races can be amazing like the race I had last night round China with Rob Musgrove's main team where the race was 100% open until the last 5 laps out of 56.

Each car has the track to itself. So the conditions could change at any point during the process

Thanks for that Ethan.  I just wish I could be a little bit more engaged on the forums more often.  I have extremely limited time and often end up prioritising programming work above keeping people updated, which isn't good!  We are growing our team though, so over time we should become more responsive in general.

Eton: Just to back up Edwin's point, the cars do their qualifying laps sequentially, and this can take up to 5 minutes, depending on the number of cars.  So the weather can change in the middle and have the result of some cars being 6 seconds off the pace as described.

If you notice that happening again, could you please send me a PM with the race ID and I'll check the qualifying log to see if this is actually what happened.  We don't store the qualifying logs for very long, hence why I'd like to be alerted when it happens.  Thanks.

That is very interesting Andrew - about the sequetial qualifying runs.  This had never occured to me.   It would explain a great deal about differing results when the weather changes.  As would be the case in real life.

I thought qualifying was supposed to get switched back to 20 minutes before race time rather than the 15 minutes it's at right now. What happened to that? Having quali closer to lockout would likely do a lot to mitigate issues with the weather changing between lockout and qualifying.

This is the sort of thing I'm talking about. Myself (Doxjq) and Follow me on twitter had (arguable) the best drivers and the highest design, and look at our qualifying times.

Compared to P1 any way, who started the race on full wets (as did we), and there is a 4 second difference. At the time it made no sense and completely baffled us.

Jason - Did you PM Andrew as requested with the race ID?

No I didn't. The way he worded the post was more like "if it happens again" isn't it? We haven't had it happen for over a month now.

Jason - yes that is correct.
I thought your post was highlighting a new situation.

And there is another race ruined for me by weather. Heavy rain for two hours all the way up to lock out, few minutes later and it dries up and I place in the bottom half for qualifying and will probably finish at the back during the race. WTF

Ahhh. BBC is saying that if I was down at Silverstone now. I wouldn't need a coat as it's dry... Weird how 2 sites producing the same info can be so wrong.

Ohh well. It might not be for much longer. fingers / toes and everything else crossed. :D
