Elite season 87
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So a new, longer season kicks off and with 2 new managers being promoted up from the Pro league, Julius and Rony would have a very tough season ahead of them.
At the top end of the table we had high hope for this season to be as tight as the last with 5 time champion Esko looking to make it 3 championships in a row and make his league total 6! Bry the league legend manager with 12 championships! Sandeep, the most decorated manager also looking for his 6th championship in this league! Everything was to fight for and in Australia Sandeep opens up the seasons competition with a pole position with Esko joining him on the front row. The race was won by Esko but Sandeeps 2nd and 3rd place puts him on top of the league. Darren starts off the season with a positive 4th place in the race, Dean and Smoky both also gaining points.
Malaysia next and Bry gets a front row lock out and gets the win with the 1 stop strategy again!, Sandeep takes 2nd and Esko completes the podium. Sandeep holds first place in the league and Bry climbs above Esko into 2nd, Smoky, Darren and Dean continue their fight for 4th
After over a season of races without a win, Sandeep who's consistency had kept him in the fight despite not winning a race, must have wondered when his run of bad luck would end! And China would give him that answer! Sandeep gets his win by beating Bry by 3 tenths! And once again Esko completes the podium.
Both Darren and Dean gain points and Dario gets his first ever point in Elite! Darren now holding the 4th spot.
Esko had to wait until Bahrain to get his first win of the season and Smoky, using a split strategy gets 2nd and 3rd. This jumps Esko up with Sandeep to joint top and Bry only 9 points behind them, Smoky's big point haul puts himself firmly in 4th with both Darren and Dean struggling behind him.
With a front row lock out for Bry in Spain which he converted into a maximum points in the race, and Esko completing the podium Bry jumps up to top of the league, Esko holds second and Sandeep third.
Monaco was next, and once again, Bry gets a front row lock out! And with a front row lock out at Monaco, things were looking good for him, but right on the very last lap, Esko, from 7 seconds behind, on fresher tyres surges to the front and gets the win, Bry takes 2nd and 3rd and still holds the top spot but Esko closes the gap to 11 points, with Sandeep trailing by 22 points. Lamont gains his first point of the season.
On the second visit to Canada Esko made it his second win at Canada, Smokey gets 2nd and Bry completes the podium, once again the person at the top changed, this time Esko was on top with Bry now in 2nd Sandeep in 3rd but with another good result this put Smoky very close to Sandeep and had he not told us he would be missing some races it looked like he could have put in a proper fight with the top three. Darren and Dean only separated by 3 points in 5th and 6th.
France was next and once again the top of the league changes as Bry retakes the lead after he wins with the 1 stop, Sandeep completes the podium with 2nd and 3rd. Bry now 17 points clear of Esko and the next track being Austria! A new track for the league and with no knowledge of the track a big point haul was on the cards and it was Bry who once again proved the strength of a 1 stop strategy who wins, Esko 2nd with a 2 stop strategy using two types of tyres and Sandeep in 3rd choosing a one tyre 2 stop strategy!
Belgium offered a little more this season, not only was it raining, but a selection of managers had 'issues' with the starting tyres and at no fault of their own, started on the incorrect tyres and sadly, one of those managers was title contender Bry. Esko gets the win and moves back into the top spot but with the mishap, the two teams promoted up from Pro, Rony and Julius, both score points, Bostjan also gains points and Keith gets a big haul of points with a 4th and 5th.
Britain next, and with Esko winning the past 7 out of 9 races here it looked like he could try to hold on to the top spot. But it was Sandeep who got the win with both his drivers on a 2 stop strategy he gets 1st and 2nd moving him closer to the top two again and even though Esko gets the win in Germany, he loses points to both Bry and Sandeep who are now 16 and 30 points behind.
Smoky makes his return to racing and does so in great fashion with a 1st and 3rd in Hungary, Darren gets 2nd place bringing him within 2 points of Dean in the league, Esko extends his lead on Bry to 29 points and Sandeep moves into 2nd place only 4 points clear of Bry. With only a few races left it was a 3 way race for the title!
Sandeep gets maximum points in Italy and closes the gap to the top to only 9 points! Could Sandeep continue on his surge and get back on the top spot? Singapore next, and Bry gets maximum points but with Sandeep in 3rd, now only 4 points behind Esko! Bry 25 points behind in 3rd place.
The next track was another new one, Russia and this time it was Sandeep to get a front row lock out which he converted into maximum points in the race. This was enough to take the top spot back! And by 27 points with only 3 races left Sandeep was looking comfortable.
Japan saw Jason take his 4th pole position this season but he was still in great danger of relegation with 0 points and 3 races left. Esko gets the win with Bry in 2nd and Dean getting himself on the podium in 3rd. Once again Keith gains some points and looks like he has been improving well lately. Sandeep clings on to the top spot with Esko only 16 points behind and Bry only 31 behind.
In Brasil once again Esko wins but with Sandeep in 2nd and 3rd the gap was only closed to 12 points so once again it was going to be decided on the last race! Esko sealed the championship last season against Shanthen, could he do it again against Sandeep? Could Sandeep beat Esko to their 6th title? Would he stop Esko's run of championships?
Abu would decide
Smoky takes 1st and 3rd with Bry taking 2nd both using a 1 stop strategy but behind them the championship was decided, Sandeep gets 4th and 6th and Esko in 5th and 8th
Sandeep is the new Champion

So Esko's run is over and Sandeep is the new champion! Jason, despite his 4 pole positions is relegated to Pro.
With Bry missing many races last season and fighting for the title until very nearly the last race could he get his 13th title next season? Will Sandeep continue his consistency and win again? Will Smoky make a fight this season after showing strength over the past few seasons? Can Darren, Dean, Keith or Bostjan make the jump? With next season running a 15 race random track calendar, who knows?
See you at season 88! :)

Elite season 88
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Season 88 was going to be different again, this time only 15 tracks long and those tracks picked at random. Would Sandeep be able to defend his title? Would Bry have the opportunity to attend every race and complete his serious challenge from last season? Would Smoky be able to gain his first title? Or maybe someone else could make the step up?
Frank the winner of the Pro league makes his first appearance in Elite alongside Izan the runner up. bre
The first race was in... Australia! Even with a random calendar this was once again the first race of the season and with Esko getting pole maybe he could get the season off to a good start, unfortunately that wasn't the case, with him missing the race he only gained 1 point and Sandeep gets the season off to a flyer with his first win followed closely by Bry, Smoky completes the podium, both Dean and Darren get their first points too.
Next was Spain, Bry gets pole but it was Smoky who gets the 1-2, Bry gets 3rd place meaning Smoky moves in to the top spot 23 points clear of both Sandeep and Bry.
Malaysia next and Bry gets another pole but this time it was Esko who takes the 1-2 as both managers choose the 1 stop strategy Bry takes 3-4 and moves to top of the league but only 5 points behind him both Esko and Smoky.
On to Hungary, Esko wins another, Bry in second and Sandeep in 3rd this puts Esko on top with Bry, Sandeep and Smoky all within 15 points of the lead! Both Bostan and Lamont get their first points of the season
In Britain current Champion Sandeep beats Smoky and Bry and moves 12 points clear at the top but France had a bit more drama in the next race as quick changes in the weather messed many managers strategies, Sandeep still manages to win the race with Smoky close behind and Dean capitalises on the weather change and grabs himself a podium with a 3-4.
A front row lock out in China from Esko was then converted to a 1-3 with Smoky taking 2nd to complete the podium, Sandeep still holds on to the top spot with Smoky now 25 points behind him.
Monaco provided us with another wet race, Bry converts his pole to a 1-2, his first win of the season which jumps him up into second place in the league only 4 points behind Sandeep.
Sandeep gets 1-2 in Italy with Dario surprising all by getting his car on the podium using a 1 stop strategy. This 1-2 puts Sandeep 67 points clear of Smoky  and with less races per season things were looking good for the current champion.
It was Frank who got the pole in Canada but Smoky who got the 1-2 bringing him within 42 points of the top and back in with a fighting chance to put a real challenge in.
In Bahrain, once again Frank gets pole position showing his cars have speed but can he convert that into race pace? The race was won by Esko with Bry just behind him both on the 1 stop strategy, Smoky was the fastest on the 2 stop and completes the podium. With now only 4 races left, Sandeep only 41 points clear of Smoky with Esko 3 points behind him.
In Azerbaijan once again Frank gets pole! His third this season and the Elite league newcomer not only got the race pole, he also got the tracks fastest qualifying lap! A great achievement for both manager and league. The race was won by Smoky and Sandeep and Bry completes the podium, with only 3 races to go Sandeep is only 22 points clear of Smoky who is fighting hard for his first title.
Austria was another wet race for the league, this time is was Lamont who took advantage and got a front row lockout but a very clever drive from Darren paid off and he got his first win of the season and a big point haul but his main competitor, Dean, also scored well and grabbed 2nd spot on the podium! The final spot was taken by Sandeep and with a poor result from his competitors he was now 46 points clear and only needed a decent result in Abu Dhabi and he got just that with a 1-2 confirming that he would defend his title and become a 7 time Champion within the league!
The last race was in Mexico a new track so a chance to test out strategies for the league, the race was won by Smoky with Sandeep behind him.
So another season closed, Sandeep holds the title again! Smoky looks like he can mount a real challenge for the title! both Bry and Esko are more than capable of taking the mantle! With the midfield behind looking stronger each season and new players being promoted breaking records with the likes of Frank and his son Dario getting on the podium, both Darren and Dean improving each season its looking like season 89 is going to be a good one! :)
See you next season! :)
