We already have a number of random events in the game. Off the top of my head I can think of Qualifying, weather, Qualifying, the pit stop bug, qualifying, wrong tyre bug and a bug that can cause a car to lose 15 places in the first lap. And Qualifying.

Have I made my opinion clear?  😅

I believe the game does need further development to create divide between teams once you are fully developed , if this should be through more realistic events in a race such as crashing or retirement or through expanding the development attribute to the game so that car design and build becomes more determining to your type of car you end up with is a separate debate 
I think opening up development further would be the better option, rather than bad events in a race but I’m not against race events so much as others , although I can see both sides of the argument. I think many people who argue for this are looking for a more realistic game than looking to steal wins and I personally wouldn’t mind it but that’s just one opinion. 

The game does have many hidden things to learn but it appears that whilst there are many things to learn, they can be learnt quickly. 
The game is very good as it is but I feel it could be better by opening up options , giving more choices and provided more decisions , rather than us all ended up in pretty much the same place once you have learnt how the game translates and what to do.

The higher the average Reputation in a league, the more annoying it would be. So I have something that could make this work.

The lower the average rep in a tier, the more chances of mistakes. The chance would he 0% if the rep was 8000 or higher. The chance would be 10-20% per driver if the rep is 5000.

And even better proposal for the crashes idea but if we consider that it is not the developer's focus, even this will not be able to make it in an update in the near future.

Personally I think if it were ever introduced the best solution would be to have incidents enabled/disabled by the league host.

This would give both camps the solution they desire.

But as CenSy says, the devs have already gone on record saying that currently this is not in their plans. I also worry that such a significant change to the simulator might introduce unexpected consequences and bugs which would take years to iron out.
