You're both forgetting that if one person has hard objectives, another has easy objectives. That's how it is now, and most likely how it would be if a new way of calculating objectives was implemented.

The reason I like it the way it is now is because it takes skill into account when calculating your objectives. Not just skill of strategies and in-race stuff, but picking out the right drivers and having a good design plan.

If it was solely based on qualifying, picking drivers which are lower levels but still as quick as others would be irrelevant, so people who are 'better' at the game would find it just as hard to reach their objectives as those who aren't as good.

That makes no sense whatsover.. How does starting on softs, make it impossible to finish in your objective..The same with Hard tyres... I don't understand the logic..

Because if you bothered to read what I said, some drivers may have the attributes to get pole but not the attributes to hold onto the lead for a whole race and win.

And if someone starts on Hards on a track which isn't good for Hards, such as Monaco, won't be good enough to get the objective too.

Please, read and understand what I say.

WHO WOULD START AT MONACO ON HARDS!?! YOU would learn that they don't work... And you are making it sound as if you ALWAYS have to get your objective. Talent may have a factor in if you 'fall down' the order but if you're quick in quali, then you should be quick in the race also as like I said, some attributes are more important than others.

Oh wow, you still haven't read what I said.

It's a Catch 22 Situation, at Monaco, the obvious thing to do is start on Softs. However, a driver with good Qualy Attributes and bad Race Attributes could fall down the order and not get the objective. And obviously, if someone did use Hards, then they wouldn't get the objectives either...

Jesus Christ, it's not hard to understand.

Like I said then, You would realise, Oh, My driver isn't good enough in the race and would sack him. Would you have a driver with good quali but bad race pace? I don't think so. And there is a thing called LEARNING.. people would think "Oh yeah, these tyres don't work at this track".... I'll say it one last time, You can't always meet your objective!! And for this Catch 22 Situation.... WTF are you on about... Your talking nonsense...

*You're

What you are saying about learning is irrelevant to what I was saying. I was just saying that at Monaco, a track I am using as an EXAMPLE, people have to use Softs realistically.

If you can't always meet your objective now, then others may not meet it if your suggestion actually happened.

If you think my 'Catch 22 Situation' is nonsense, then you clearly don't understand it.

That's the point, what are you on about... And others may not meet it have a better CHANCE. This is not saying, Everyone must meet their objective.. It's saying, Give people a better chance of meeting their objective... that was the original idea.

If Catch 22 means, there is no logic.. then there clearly is. Depending on where you qualify, you can have a close objective which is achievable.

I give up with this. I really do. What I was saying had nothing to do with learning the correct strategy, had nothing to do with learning what driver to pick or anything like that...

Some people currently have easy objectives, others have hard objectives.

With your suggestion, some people may have easier objectives, yet others, would have harder objectives.

Qualifying is not a suitable way of determining race objectives at all.

You read the scenario in the original post. I said, If I finish 3rd one race, my next objective is 3rd again. How can that happen if I qualify low down the field? It's just a suggestion.

And don't use sarcastic comments like You're* Some people may have dyslexia. The guys on iGP encourage people to suggest ideas, and this popped into my head. If you have a problem with me, then say something. Good luck with whatever you do on this game.

And to the staff, I won't post any more ideas on here as they are obviously pointless.... Goodnight.

And as I said earlier, previous races play too much of a part in an objective due to 'one-off results' although basing objectives heavily off qualifying shouldn't happen.
