I’d be fine with it being my mistake, if someone would just say “nope. You’ve got the build wrong” At least then I’d know to try something else. I’ve tried all I can think of. Hence the stretch in my last post. I tried maxed out with help & without help. It’s the same at the start of the season through the end of the season & only in Softs.
You sum it up well my friend.
Thanks

No difference. 17th again.
One more Soft qualifying where I'm back there, without a Developer esponse & I'm out of this game. Spent $1000 on two drivers & can't even get a valid response. If I ran my business this way I'd have no Clients.

Could it be that you didn't have the right stats for a track, whatever they are. Yesterday first race of the season, Germany, I had the highest Acc in the league but it should be more of a Handling/Braking track (is it though?), so I got a lame-ish quali: eventually, I was simply the fastest on track and eventually I won with a 3 sec margin (which is a lot in our league, considering the competitiveness). Today, France, I dumped 15 out of 20 points available into Braking, because it's good to have acc and braking leveled together, right? Right? P19 in quali on same compound as everyone ahead of me in the grid, P11 final result.

The way it works it appears to be completely random, with no solution to this but to spend your points and pray you did right. Still waiting for an answer that proves me wrong.

It's the same if it's the first race or the last. The only time it has a chance to change is when I don't qualify on Soft's.
Imagine how annoying you are 4 levels below 20, qualify 25th & come 6th. Where would I have come if I'd qualified like the other cars at my level, they get in the top 10. One team is my brothers, so I know his stats, my car was better last season.

Today i started 14 th , with same car as my opponent +15 pts ( into fe ) who started 3 th .
does driver height influence quali ?
im struggling in quali like never before , been 3 seasons now , taking away my joy for the game .

also this from previous poster :
Do the devs really not have an answer for this, or just don't want to "spoil the fun" of figuring it out by yourself? Do we really have to take a tedious trial-and-error path which could lead to a lot of seasons thrown into the bin just to figure out a way to have a little control over our gameplay?

I had exactly the same problem until 2 seasons ago, where i changed how i prioritise acceleration compared to other stats. I'm not going to go into too much detail because that's for people to find out in their own way, but i went from qualifying between 16th and 23rd on average, to usually being in or around the top 5. And that's as a level 16-17 against several level 20 managers.

I honestly thought it could be a game bug, but i now know that it isn't

I guess you are saying you matched his car design but had a different supplier, so what you were expecting to happen? You don't know in which area he focused on or if FE is really that important to USA compared to the big 4.

As Jack said, it's not only about having acc and the other being extremely low in comparison, it's about suiting the car for each track. Try to change your approach to car development throughout the season and se what happens. Good luck!

Once i qualified ahead of a league rival while saving my full 18 points and the other Level 20 manager spent all of his 20 available. It was a race right at the beginning of the season and we compared stats. His car was superior. I quali in P3, he qualified around P20.. If this is the different approach to car development you're talking about then idk if this game is right for me.
