I don't think ANY of you who think that keeping an outside system can see the big picture..

F1 Follows the weather.. As does every other main racing format.
Not 1 place does it say in any setup manual that one week you'll be setting up for 60 degrees and then the next race.. 10 degrees..

I might sound big headded here but search my posts about the weather system and there will be some from over 2 yrs ago. You'll see the same issues talked about then, that are still around today... BUT you'll also see other posts that have changed iGP for the better.. Min of 10 degrees, More tyres (SS) and the issues with race lock down to starting issues with rain..

I don't post to make for the sake of it.. I listen to what people have to say about the system 1st.. get other feedback and then I post.

The facts are these-

Out of house system -

Works out of the box... but you can not put your own spin on the system you use..
The system can be taken off at any time the devs wish and everyone using the system can do nothing about it..
MANY MANY complaints about it being way off have been proven.. to the point that someone was at one of the track locations at the time and the system was showing completely different... So you can't even use real life weather systems to predict the "Real life weather" we supposedly have now.

+10000001 issues with using an outside sorce.

In House Weather -

Every detail can be honed to suit in house weather.. Tyres, Staff, even more tweeks to the driver skill sets and many others.
Tyres can be fine tuned so they should be running right for each track.. They can also bring down the variables between hot and cold.. Forces you to be more on the ball (If an F1 driver pushes to hard for 1 lap.. This can take off 3 or more racing laps because of how fine tuned they are.

Staff can finally be put to work - Tech Director can finally give you some race feedback at what he thinks could happen in the race. (There is a post with more details on what they could do within the job...) Vague predictions that get better with higher levels but will never be spot on every time...

With an Out of house weather system.. The tech director might as well put "Stick your head out of the window... If it's wet, then it's raining!"

I want a game where you have to be on the ball from lights to flag.. On some of the tracks, you can run off to the shop, come back and very little has changed tyre wise.. ( I know this because I have done this more than once.)

PLEASE open your eyes and see the big picture..

Ohh. I found 2 posts about issue that have been addressed... Where as many other posts have not.

iGP does address issues... but when they are put down with reasons / explanations and then adding ways to fix the issue.

An in-house system is the only way to go. maybe we can get it in Q4 of 2015.

First a confession, it may be my fault wet racing was stopped...

It may be worthwhile removing the 5th input box from the web page and going back to how it was as the reason it was stopped was to get around the 5th stop bug.

4 planned stops with possible rain vs 5 stops permanently dry, which would most people prefer?

Wouldn't it work to just have 8 possible planned stops? That depends on what is causing the bug I guess.

someone mentioned to me from one of my leagues i was in that all the stints we have are more or less equal so just fill stints upto stint 4 then it will always use stint 4 when u have run out of stints. i have tried that on the very last wet race and it worked for me at least.

A question to the all replies.

IF... and I do mean IF.. A very basic weather system can be put together that gives each track rough average temps with a varient of say a movement of 10 to 15 degrees C. either way.. (EG. Turkey average race temp set as 40 but it can be anywhere between 30 to 50 each race.)

Would you be happy with that... IF..

Tyres have a re-work to suit the varients with a lot more detail / feedback.

Tech Director can start to make basic views on how he sees the race unfolding.

More options for league hosts to select new things like "Set tyres for the whole season" or "Set tyres for each track" (Can be limited to 2.)

Better basic setups that is better for managers who can not attend a race and also the ones that turn up and not lapping them 5 times.. A far better experience for both parties.

The more the tyres get worked on (Data, Temps, Deg and so on.) The more options this gives to the rest of the game.. Drivers will find a fav tyre or work with.

With the outside weather system.. None or very very little can be worked on with what I have put.. With an in house, it can.

If Jack says that it would be a far simpler way to brining in more options to the game.. Would you take that choice instead?

Yes it might sound like a step back BUT it might mean that  we could have far more development over a shorter period of time, rather  than waiting for 1 update and Jack and the iGP crew having issues because of anything that is tied up within the system..

I'd just be happy to have some different stategy, adjust the tyres, temperature, anything. It's boring at the moment with SS,SS,SS. Heck I even won in Bahrain on SS.

Surely that can't be right?

Maybe take away the Hards as they NEVER get used and add a SSS :D

What we need is a safety car so we can pull of some real life strategies. even if this game changed the tyre wear to low in Abu Dhabi & you used Komehome tyres you would only be able to do 20laps with hards and these guys are pulling of 28laps with softs lol
