I follow. I’d did adjust my original post to include your suggestion of fully equalising weight as well.

For the complicated solution you aren’t wrong but it’s still worth exploring as something that could be implemented in the future.

How I see the situation is that we need a simple fix for the short term (equalise weight, turn weight off etc) and a longer term fix that will give the game the balance it deserves.

I also try to keep in mind that iGP is a business and it needs to earn money. So having drivers with desirable qualities to encourage token spend is good for the model. But not when they are as game breaking as the current weight impact on female drivers pace.

Addressing the bugs you list, can’t contest them, some are more annoying than others. The only one I will dive in on here as it is on topic is the tall drivers.

My understanding is that this is less of a bug and more of a ”feature”. Tall drivers prefer a lower ride height and a lower ride height provides a marginal qualification benefit (if it’s the preferred setup, I’ve not tested running drivers below preferred setup to see if that trend continues.) But if it provides a race pace advantage it’s extremely marginal so on the whole that isn’t too much of an issue.

Which is why I find Kevin’s proposal interesting. If you could set it up so that weight counteracts the height you could end up with a variety of drivers which are better in different situations. Which would be good for competition, good for iGP’s financial model, as ultra competitive managers may choose to maintain a stable of drivers with different attributes, with the main downside of it Being that it is pretty complicated, and maybe never being fully balanced and ending up a bit of a waste in time.

Sorry that you feel that way. You’ve made your point twice now and I agreed with you the first time that it would fix the current situation.

But there’s nothing wrong with figuring out something which may with a bit of work function better than the current system and certainly nothing wrong in constructive discussion in general.

There could be a situation where everyone agrees on a way forward (unlikely as it is) and in the meantime the impact of weight could be switched back off to allow the work to take place and stabilise the current problem.

Sorry, I could have made my point clearer.  I was commenting on both yours and Kevin’s ideas.  I think sometimes people look for complicated solutions in the belief that they work better.  Usually simple solutions are more effective.

It’s a shame though we are even having this discussion as the Devs must have been aware of this issue from their own testing.

We have a qualifying bug that favours tall male drivers, this still exists, but has now been superseded with the situation with tall female drivers which now clearly impacts on race pace as well.  I also suspect (admittedly from anecdotal evidence) that the impact of these bugs varies by track. Add in issues such as pit stop bug, lack of dirty air and overpowered DRS creating race long trains we have a game which is sadly looking more and more broken.  Some suspect this all down to the changes needed to introduce 3D racing and maybe there is some truth in this, but personally I think it’s more likely to be multi factorial through the cumulative impact of updates and patches over the years.

No one’s  view is necessarily the correct one, but we are all agreed that there is something which needs fixing.  Unfortunately the only ppl who can fix this are the iGP team and so far they have been silent on this.

The idea of making taller drivers heavier offsets the height advantage that taller drivers have had for a considerable time now.

If you want the "simple solution" it's not enough just to make male and female drivers the same minimum weight you also need to make all drivers the same height.

I think that kevin solution could be good, but it could be very dangerous so it must be tested.

I think that qualify time is a maths function, so it is only nexessary add a correction to add 5kg to female drivers and 0kg to male drivers.
It will be so easy for the moment; whie for future you can devolop Kevin idea better..

It could be possible also correct for only 4kg, in this way woman has still an dvantage , but lower

I'm reading some solutions ... it would be enough to remove the weight and height factor from the mathematical calculation for the qualification,

Johnny the issue has much more impact in the actual race so whatever solution is implemented (or not, depending on iGP’s view) it needs to be across both qualification and race.

Hello managers,

I have decided to turn off temporarily the driver weight attribute. It’ll be turned on back once we find the best way to address this. We think the fairest solution would be to have a BMI system.

Good to hear you are looking at solutions to address this.  However, if you go down BMI route maybe you could make weight to height more realistic. Having drivers with BMI of 14 is not a healthy message to be giving your younger players or those with potential health issues around weight.

Should this not be moved into the Anouncement category or at least have something said in there

Yeah, I agree. I think too much messages like this are hidden in different forum categories. I would appreciate if a note was added to the Announcements

Thanks!
I appreciate it!
The advantage of woman was very terrible... second only to the introduction of yellow flag....
Now we have to work for improving this game  in the right  way
