Weather temps are wrong

Sorry for the delay, we will be looking at it today.

I think we have identified why it has been happening. We just need to trace that back to the source now and find out where the chain begins, then figure out an appropriate solution.

Cheers for the update...

Just had rain and low temps in Bahrain when it should have been 27c :(

We identified the problem, but it's not something in the code.. it's a network issue. Without major changes to the code or architecture this may continue to happen until the new iGP is released.

It should not be a problem in the new iGP as the changes to the architecture should make it far less likely.

Last one I see is weather at Brazil in the setup screen telling it's 23 degrees C and raining , even just a couple of minutes before the race starts, but it's actually 16 degrees C and dry in the race.

That one I do find a bit tricky as you setup and do your runs in wet and then it appears to be dry.

Not that it matters for me in this case as it's just two of my teams against eachother on same strategies so no harm, done but it is odd. :)

Weather underground has a delay in their system I noticed last night.
They where saying still light rain in Singapore while others where saying dry.
The race last night didn't turn dry until it reached halfway point but the race should of been dry from the start.

could you pin a post to the top of the races forum area with a list of all pages for each track where weather can be viewed that way we can keep eye on the weather easier?

Really? In the same league in Elite, we had 29C in Brazil. I guess that's why the Pro race time was shorter...

Yes, really. It seems to affect different divisions of leagues quite a bit. And it even fluctuated through the race, sunny, cloudy, overcast, 14c, 13c, 15c, 12c so it can change.

I don't think it was raining on my setup screen a min before the thing was shut for China but it was 1.00 full wet.

Issue is still ongoing for sure.

British Racing League tonight was 23c in Pro and Elite.. The Pro race ran nearly as quickly as Elite thought as tyres didnt heat up as much.... It was raining in Rookie... it was Bahrain... They had rain for 100% of a 100% race..... LETS JUST SAY THAT AGAIN... RAIN IN BAHRAIN....

Jack, I know the next release is the most important thing right now, but I cant understand why this broke when I assume no changes are being made to the current code?

Rookie and Pro under the rain but Elite is dry.
Coincidence ?

I know you cannot change the whole code about weather before the new update but I have a suggestion :
Why not to set a static weather for each track until the release ? What all of you are thinking about that ?
This weather issue is just ruining the game and many of us are on leave ..

It's not an issue in the code, because as you say it hasn't changed. The issue is the network, connections are timing out on the weather calls and it's resulting in invalid weather being used. At least, based on the logs we have this seems to be the cause.

We are going to look in to a temporary patch before the new update comes out to resolve this. But we don't have any hands free to assign to it currently, so it might be in a few days time.

Sorry, I know it must be really disturbing some races by the sounds of it.

We will be launching a patch for this next week. We have found and addressed the issue and will be testing the solution this weekend, with a rollout across the service likely by Monday.

It was the issue highlighted in post #32. We're changing the way the requests are handled to cater for network issues. The tests were successful and it will be launched tomorrow (Monday). :)
