It should definitely prevent the kind of thing that was happening to Kevin last two seasons but once it is in place for more than one season every car will be the same.

One step at a time. First, getting everything fairly balanced. The next step will be to add some strategy to it, and I think the best way will be for teams to select which areas they want to research. For now, I've decreased the impact of the research. This will keep cars more differentiated throughout the season.

The other thing I want to prevent is cars maxing out all the time in certain leagues, so let me know if/when anyone manages that.

Jack, I am curious as to how down force be rated as a 1, when at the end of last season is was no where near that, or for that fact, the lowest rating? Seems strange that one can drop so much as now all of the design points at the start of the season now have to go directly to improving that. Please advise.

As James desires, I too anticipate the arrival of preventing certain attributes from being spied on. I also like the suggestion from M Hauck, only spying one team rather than all teams.

I absolutely do not want to develop aspects of the car like tyre economy.

Jack there problems with the points now. I was given 64 extra design points to catch up with best team, but when i went to assign all I had was my design points from my hq.

Yeah, automatically assigned this time around.

In same league as Paul. Started this season being 1 lap off the winner of first race (which was Paul).

Just finished British iGP. 62 dp from spying is a huge increase from the 10-15 extra dp that I was getting since China. One team had close to max fuel and tyre economy though, and the top team in cooling and reliability had its stats for those at around the middle of the bar.

Agree with the others that it shouldn't be possible for most if not all teams to get even close to max 800 dp in a season.

Hi Jack, how this changes affects the Innovation strength of the CD or maybe for be clear, how much does this atribute affects the output of points given to other teams?

i had virtually no points in cooling because of designer weakness, the change came in and atuomatically over the last 2 races the points have come up to the mid 30's in cooling. just make a note of what the numbers were before.

I will be working on some improvements to the system when I get a chance, but at the moment I need to look in to other tasks.

The obvious next steps are:
1) Adding strategic choices to the automated gathering of design points
2) Implementing CD strength/weakness impact on the gains

I'm going to implement the second point right now actually, as it's quite straightforward and will maintain more variety in the grid.
