[Btw. There seems to be something left out in your last sentence: “However I personally am absolutely positive that either of the previous systems would hand [???] I'd be interested to hear your input on the system I proposed above.”]

Aha! the drawbacks of multitasking :) sorry about that.

I think I intended to say that the previous two systems for research would have handed an extreme advantage to lower level accounts in this new design.

Hey Red!

I dont agree with you...

The better research ratio is the only advantage for lower levels.

The higher levels have better boost, DRS and more design points, because they are simply producing more DPs and have more DPs with their engjnes.

So why not give a low level at least one advantage to keep the balance?

At least once leveling slowed enough to allow the Technology building level to catch up with team level there's no difference in DRS and boost between low and high level teams anymore. For the engine it's only the weakness, as low level can find an engine supplier. So it's mostly design DP and whatever chassis might bring.

That's a very narrow field to fit a balanced research advantage, and getting into the situation again that staying low level, or otherwise having to make sure there's always a team ready to switch into the lower level sweet spot once the other is about to level out of it, because being in some lower level area is more competitive than leveling up, wouldn't be a good thing at all.

How can you catch up in Boost and DRS, when a level 25 Manager can have max level 25 DRS and Boost, while a Level 39 Manager sooner or later will have both features on level 39?

You also have more total DPs when you are an engine manufacturer with level 39 compared with a manager on level 20.

And the engine weakness disadvantage for a customer engine is also huge, especially in qualifying.

Minus 15 in brakes compared to minus 15 in tyre economy makes a huge difference.

A level 25 manager can have 5 star boost/DRS if Technology is level 25, the very same strength as a level 39 manager gets with level 39 tech.

If starting an own engine it'll be weaker, but that's the price for it. Some other way to develop it faster, now that ads are gone, would be nice, though.

It's there, but not that huge and much smaller than a significant advantage in research.
