And here's the download link for anyone that wants it. It works for me, if there are any problems with it, let me know.

http://www.drakentijd.com/igp/iGPTool.xls

You just have to fill in your own data for tyre wear and fuel consumption from previous races.

If you get stuck with it, or don't quite understand a part of it, you can always PM, or leave a message here and we can increase the general knowledge base :)

Problem with the formulas 'should' be fixed now I hope.

Sorry dude...I fill my data for tyre and fuel from previous race, then the file should make some kind of prediction for next races or it's a sort of notepad where i can find data for next time i race in a track? :)

Did you fill in the data section Francesco? on the right hand side, there's a table of values for previous results. If you have that filled in, then when you enter the data for the track and drivers with how many laps you want to do, it should update automatically.

If you did that, and it still doesn't work, then I've made an error with the upload.

@John Smith, glad it was able to help you out :) (haven't checked this in ages, sorry for the late reply.)

This tool inspired me to make my own, much simpler tool (doesn't bother with the setup info, since that changes a fair bit from driver to driver). Contained entirely on one page/sheet, so all I have to do is feed in my own data from races (how much was left in the tyres and the tank, over how many laps) and the sheet does all the hard work for me there.

Then I just put in how many laps I want to do in a stint, and the sheet will tell me the rest (best tyre to use, how much fuel to put in). Also an option for how much of a 'safety net' worth of fuel I want to put in the cars.

Might even be persuaded to share it, maybe :P

Matt,

You better being sharing that so that I can kick your butt here while I wait for Pitwall to come back!!

Didn't realize that you were over here playing!! LOL!! What league are you a part of?

Thanks,

Bouchard

Hey Robert :D

I'm part of my own league, even has a full elite this season. Been here to fill time til Pitwall returns.

https://igpmanager.com/play/?url=league-info/911

that's my league.

I guess i could maybe share my spreadsheet with a friend ;) might even leave in my own data to give you a leg up ;)

Nay,

That would ruin the fun of learning a new game and making all the basic newbie mistakes. If it was to easy then it would be boring!!

I have joined the league so hopefully in a few season I will be racing you in elite!!

Thanks,

Bouchard

@Matt, nice tool you have created, thanks.

Not sure where to get the values from for the tyres (wear rates etc) Do you get them after a race or is there somewhere to find out them before a race?

@Scott I get them after i have done a race. Before a race, there isn't any way to tell sadly, you simply have to guess. But, if you are in a league that has done races for atleast 1 season already, go look at the past results for the winning drivers. It won't give you the figures for tyres and fuel, but it will tell you what compound they used, and how many laps they did, so you can atleast make an educated guess for how far you can/should push tyres in your stints :)

You can find the download here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23593073/priv/iGPStrategy_Tool_final1.0.zip (And updated v1.5 at the bottom of this post)

UPDATE: V1.5 Download link here
http://www.filedropper.com/igpstrategytool15-empty

The V1.5 update link doesn't work anymore for me.
Can anyone reupload the tool, please?

Thank you in advance!

Is there anyone that has the 1.5 version of the tool in the first post? as noted by Nick, the link for 1.5 does not work.

Can someone PM me with some instructions on use, i am a brand new player to the game and don't have any stats to enter into the planner so i have nothing to work from.

Matt
I just downloaded your chart and put in my last race at Europe as an example. The fuel stats you put in come up quite short vs what was actually needed to complete the race.
I put in 100L over the course of the race but that only got me to 26/28 laps so I had to come in for a splash & dash!!
The chart you created said 99L for the race and that is with a 2L / stint buffer. Seems to be a bit short on your calculations, unless I am entering something incorrectly.

The fuel is bugged in the game. Your either best of using your own old data or as one of the devs said in a forum post "4 litres is a good place to start"
