There is the newer NASCAR system, where last place gets 1 point, up to first place getting as many points as there are competitors. In this case up to 32. Then I believe they add 5 bonus points for a win and bonus points for most laps in the lead (which would not have to be followed here).

EDIT: Just looked up the current system. In a 40car field, first gets 40, second 35, third 34, and so on decreasing by 1 point per position until final 5 spots each get 1 point.

As for keeping noobs entertained.... It's going to be the ability to run an entire season in 2 hours or at least be able to run several races a day...they just can't comprehend the pace of this game.

I want a field filled with managers who are 'hungary' for points. Not a field filled with ppl who are inactive and still gets points

i don't like points down to P30, way to much! Somewhere between P12 to P16 is best.

@James Good website.

A point system with a range between P15 or P22 is fine for me. But as some point out, the best thing would be for the host to choose.

I don't see the problem with giving points to everyone in the league.... It would keep motivation to new drivers that really have no reason to be here.. it's not fun always ending towards the tail with no reward... But I'm also the guy that thinks you should receive money for winning races or pay top 5 at end of season.. most don't agree tho

100000% agreeee ...

Gah I didn't even see NASCAR was in your link!
They had that point system from 1975 to 2010. Then a 43 down to 1 point system from 2010-2015. Then they changed it in 2016 and again in 2017.

Personally if F1 fields were changed so top 10 got points when fields were in the 20-22 car range, then about half the cars received points. Since we have the possibility of having 32 cars in a race, then our points should probably extend down to 15 or 16 to give about the top half of the field points.

Agree that we need new system. Now lots of Pro players leave the game after promotion from Rookie, becouse their first season they sit with 0 points.

BUMP!

It starts to frustrate me that every season there are 1 or 2 managers who leave the league in the first race only because they can't score. I find this subject very important.

I think that the 75% of the field should get points
In a league WHO has between ( 24-32 cars) (16-24 cars) (8-16 cars) (1-8 cars )
1st 35 1st 30 1st 25 1st 15
2nd 31 2nd 26 2nd 20 2nd 12
3rd 28 3rd 23 3rd 17 3rd 10
4th 26 4rd 20 4rh 14 4th 8
5th 24 5th 18 5th 11 5th 6
6th 22 6th 16 6th 8 6th 4
7th 20 7th 14 7th 6 7th 2
8th 18 8th 12 8th 5 8th 1
9th 16 9th 10 9th 4 Rest o the field
10th 15 10th 9 10th 3 no points
11th 14 11th 8 11th 2
12th 13 12th 7 12th 1
13th 12 13th 6 Rest o the field
14th 11 14th 5 no points
15th 10 15th 4
16th 9 16th 3
17th 8 17th 2
18th 7 18th 1
19th 6 Rest of the field no points
20th 5
21st 4
22nd 3
23rd 2
24th 1
Rest of the field no points

The First 2 point sustems will help the bottom half of the table
the othe two will help the leagues who dont have many riders

That was complex. I emphasize the choice of host to choose system.
