Formula 1 - Blog 2 - Korea and Japan

Vettel wins both races and will be the champ for a 4th consecutive time. Whether you like him or not it is impressive. Some might say that he has the best car, but Mark Webber can't keep up in 'equal' equipment. Lewis Hamilton described it as 'boring' and then rapidly backtracked to say 'it's not boring' Sebastian is great, he is the best driver, he is great, it's a privilege to race with him. Did I say how great he is? Good, cause he really is great.' For some it will be boring, for most of us, we will watch it anyway. I recall the days of McLaren domination, then Williams, then Ferrari and now Red Bull. Nobody wins all the races all the time, except perhaps Jason Lee.

Excuse me, phone call....that was Lewis Hamilton calling to say how great Sebastian Vettel is. If you are in the UK, you will probably be familiar with the, 'should have gone to specsavers' advertisements, (other retailers of quality optical wear are available), where they show someone doing something silly because they have not had their eyesight tested recently. Can I just say, fire truck at Korea? There you are out for a nice Sunday afternoon drive, looking forward to stopping for a cup of tea and a (Bernie) eccles cake, when.....ooh look at that nice man trying to keep warm and such a nice hat.

Max Chilton says he deserves a second season in Formula 1. His second season in GP2 was hardly earth shattering, two wins on his way to fourth place. I understand that everyone would like a chance and if your dad is a multi millionaire, why not. But trailing round at the back, qualifying three or four seconds behind pole, is that really getting your chance? I suppose the question is will a larger team see something they like? McLaren have obviously made a mistake with Perez and the rumour still exists that he paid for the drive. McLaren have just posted a thumping loss too, are these events linked? Text message from Lewis, he is checking that I will include him saying what he thinks of Vet.....er.....how great Sebastian is.

Lenny Kravitz less talented brother reported on Lewis having a problem with his brakes in FP3 at Korea. He said, 'a mechanic is giving it a wipe down with WD40 (other lubricants are available) (no sniggering at the back) and some rag'. and here was I thinking Formula 1 was the epitome of technical innovation. Perhaps I should ask for a job, I am quite adept at the use of WD40 with or without rag.

Alonso says Sebastian Vettel is .....sorry that was Lewis again. Alonso says that Raikkonen won't be faster than Massa. Seems to me that Kimi is impervious to such things and he is unlikely to play the team role. Mind you he has been there before, so Ferrari know what they are getting. Perhaps they are looking to get a return on the 25 million dollars they paid him not to drive a few years ago? Some sources suggest that Alonso may go back to McLaren if not for 2014, then possibly for 2015 and their new partnership with Honda. They are not called The Honda Motor Company for nothing.

I like Niki Lauda he is speaks his mind, which is refreshing and unusual, (not now Lewis!) but manoeuvring Ross Brawn out? That seems like a mistake to me. Every other team will hope that he does leave but who might he work for? It would have to be a team with a decent budget, which reduces the opportunity somewhat, so McLaren, Red Bull or a return to Ferrari. Might be more interesting to fight Red Bull.

I see that 'doing a Vettel' is now a medical complaint. The symptom is the inability to straighten the right index finger. WD40 might work on that too.

Vive la France

They are not written for SEO. They are written to stimulate & create discussion. I couldn't find a decent picture of Webber hitching a ride with Alonso in Singapore.

I know you write these mainly for SEO, but why does it show Alonso and Webber from Silverstone, 2012?

Vettel is a better driver than webber in the red bull everyone knows that. Yes he is a good driver that so happens to be in the best car. Also revised my top 4 drivers in F1 after rewatching a lot of GPs and some highlights. It's still sadly Alonso as number on driver in F1 with Lewis and Kimi behind him and then Vettel. As for 2014 we all know it will be Maurussia or however you spell it who will be dominating ;) . Or maybe Williams will pull out the backyard engineering and win it all again.
