iGP Manager is announcing a significant development upgrade

We have been hard at work on many projects to improve and expand the iGP Manager game and we are ready to release our next batch of updates.  Typically we wait to post about an update until it has been released but this update will have a significant change to the actual timing of your events so we wanted to give you some advance notice.

Once the update is deployed to the public site setups and race strategy will lock 10 minutes prior to each race.  Once pre-race preparation is locked the sim will immediately move to a qualifying session and then immediately to the race.  In doing this we are reducing the chance of the weather changing significantly from the time you actually did your setup and you will now have extra time to prepare for the race.

League administrators have nothing to do on their end with this change.  We will take care of the time shift on the back end so it should be fairly seamless a transition but you should make sure the managers in your league are aware of this change.

The next significant change in this update is a new free race viewer.  We have heard your feedback on our existing free viewer and have made major changes.  We have taken our existing 2D viewer and converted it for use for free players, minus the sound and 2D overview. This will allow Free-to-play users to access all the same data about their cars such as tyre temperatures which are available in the premium 2D Pack.  We certainly hope that you will support iGP by upgrading to the premium viewer but we expect you will find the update to the free viewer to be substantial.

Another improvement that you have given us plenty of feedback on is the difficulty your drivers have in passing a slower car.  We have made an adjustment in this update that will reduce the instances that drivers get held up in an unrealistic fashion.

Yet another update in this release is how the weather widget works.  We have now added the ability for managers to be able to tell how wet the track actually is during the race in the weather widget.

The 2D Pack is also getting an update in that you will now be able to conveniently see the remaining KERS, current tyre temperatures and compounds of all cars in the race using the live timing. This convenience will not be available in the free-to-play version.

There are many bug fixes in this release, too many to actually list in this news release but here are some highlights.

The mail box efficiency has been improved dramatically which will noticeably reduce page load times for most users.

A bug was fixed which caused parts refitting to fail when changing drivers after saving refit choices.

We fixed the live race count down timer so it now functions as it was intended. Live timing will swap in for the grid on the free and mobile viewing options.

We have made a half dozen memory management bug fixes to the simulator with the intention of improving the stability of the race server.

We have also added two new options for purchase with your reward points and those are changing the nationality of your drivers and getting extra practice laps to tune your setup.

We have tentatively scheduled this update to roll out on Saturday March 16th.  We have a number of other exciting projects we are working on that we hope to release in the near future such as the previously announced new design system so stay tuned for further updates.

s I see additional bonuses for free to play, but is there any extra benifit involved for subscribers. It now appears as though subscribers will be getting less for their money!

As far as I can now tell the only real plus will be the 2d viewer, the livery and extra notes are really worthless.

i still think that it should be made a rule that you MUST use both dry compounds in a dry race, just to bring it more inline with real F1!
