Welcome to the third installment in our series of blogs about the new iGP Manager! With the launch fast approaching, we’re excited to reveal the stunning updates to one of the most iconic aspects of iGP Manager—the cars. This update takes vehicle customization and realism to new heights, ensuring your team’s car looks as good as it performs. Let’s dive into the details!

Modern Design

The new car model is upgraded to meet 2025 specs, incorporating the latest design trends and aerodynamic innovations. Drivers have also been greatly improved with a new driver model and enhanced animations. Every curve and detail has been refined to enhance the in-game experience and bring the cars and drivers to life.

New Paint Finishes

Experience unprecedented customization with over 302 quintillion possible paint combinations. Create a truly unique masterpiece by combining different paint finishes and hex colors - your car will stand out on the track in ways that even the most dedicated iGP Manager players have never seen before.

The livery editor now offers four stunning new finishes for paint customization:

  • Matte: Understated and stylish, perfect for teams who prefer a subtle edge.

  • Gloss: Sleek and reflective, delivering that showroom shine.

  • Metallic: Adds depth and sparkle, ensuring your car stands out.

  • Carbon: A bold, textured look that screams performance and innovation.

These finishes can be applied to any primary, secondary, or tertiary paint areas, giving you the freedom to create a car that truly reflects your team’s identity.

Decals

Your team’s sponsors, suppliers, and logo will now appear both in the livery editor and the race viewer, as well as driver numbers which can be customised, adding a new layer of realism and pride in your car.

While there aren’t any new liveries included in this update, more will be introduced in future patches. For now, you’ll have all the tools you need to make your car look exceptional.

Showcase Your Car with a New Cut Scene

Taking inspiration from our iconic 2018 car launch video on YouTube, we’ve added a dynamic cut scene to help you showcase your car like never before. Simply wait five seconds without interacting, and the animation will play automatically, allowing you to capture breathtaking videos of your team’s livery.

New car, new limits

To reflect the evolving competitive landscape, we’ve updated the design caps across all tiers:

  • Rookie: Increased to 100 (from 50)

  • Pro: Increased to 200 (from 100)

  • Elite: Increased to 300 (from 200)

These changes provide more room for strategic depth as you progress through the tiers, ensuring every decision matters.

New Research Formula

We’ve introduced a new research formula to level the playing field and make development more intuitive. At Level 30, you’ll start with 30% research efficiency, with each level below that increasing efficiency by 2%. This means newer teams can stay competitive while higher-level teams maintain their edge.

For example:

  • Level 30: 30%

  • Level 29: 32%

  • Level 28: 34% ... and so on.

This adjustment ensures a balanced and rewarding progression system for all players.

The countdown to launch is on, and we’re thrilled to share these updates with you. What excites you most about the new car designs and features? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned for the final blog in this series, where we’ll detail the new gameplay mechanics that are set to redefine your racing experience!

Are these updates all cosmetic in terms of race performance? I realise the change in research will affect the car specs, but in terms of the actual race, is anything in the new update going to adjust car-to-track performance?

The update is defintely looking good, visually the cars look great and I think the UI improvements will make a big difference (though I imagine I might need to make a few updates of my own!)

Solamente pido que dejen de doblar los autos de adelante a los de atrás, eso no suele pasar nunca en las carreras de fórmula 1.

So I'm level 21 but with only 27% research power? According to the formula should it not be 48%?
