We have just released new timezone auto-detection code to the website and apps. It will automatically sync your timezone year-round (hopefully). The reason I say hopefully is there are strong limitations on what we can obtain from within a web browser. I've done my best to account for all scenarios and try to get the most accurate timezone possible.

This change was needed because the old mechanism was not 100% reliable at determining the appropriate DST (Daylight Savings Time) settings. Some users in some regions were having inaccurate race times listed in-game as a result. The new technique works around this and should give these users accurate race times.

Also, apologies for the disruption this caused when it was launched into the service!

The times for this season races are a hour earlier on my game than it should be. Others in league have the correct schedule

Hi Ashton, can you answer the following:
1) What device are you using to access the game?
2) Are you using the mobile/tablet app or the website in the browser?
3) What Operating System and version of it do you have on the device? (iOS, Android, Windows etc.)
4) What is your actual timezone right now? Where are you based?

FYI - You can adjust your timezone manually as well to set it to whatever you need, just go to Settings > Uncheck 'Automatic timezone' > Choose the desired offset. The only catch is if your timezone observes DST (Daylight Savings Time) it will need updating when it changes once set to manual mode.

Hi Jack.

A very good change.  I often travel between Germany and the UK and I was always late for the race.  Today, after arriving in England, I automatically changed the time of the race from 17 to 16. So the change works well.

For info:

Motorola Moto G5

Android 7.0

Greetings.

Hi Kim,
I've postponed the race to be re-run for all tiers. At first glance that doesn't appear to be related to the subject of this thread. The race time in your league was changed which is why this happened. But if you did not change it, and were surprised by this, in theory that could have changed because your local timezone setting changed before you made edits to the league.

Did you change the start time intentionally?

Would you like me to change the race time back to what it was before?

Kim, it looks like you've managed to change it on your own. I see the races starting 2 hours later now than they were when I last checked.
