Instead of training your driver after everyrace, why not have a auto-train option that you select the field you want your driver to train in and the system will automatically train your driver after each race (or each cooldown)

yep +1
but be sure we will hear some more critics like: "why should managers not playing igpM the whole day get advantages"...

has been suggested before, and has been shunned and no, cause then why would you login, if everything is auto-done.

If you cannot login after every race, then obviously you need to join a league where you can.

why should I login after every race?
I have a plan how to train - why should I just waste my time in useless logins, if I also can do it for 5 races (or more) at once?
I exactly train my drivers, as I planned it long before. From time to time I change it if the degration is higher than expected.
I really see no goods in wasting time with useless online time! That was necassery in the very beginning, when new to the game...
But I realize there are some managers, who think: "only a 24/7 online manager is a good manager"...

Being able to set up stuff like your driver training in advance (and when the new design system comes in, design projects) would be a great benefit. There are people on here who can't be here 24/7, because they have a life.

Some people in my league have shift work, so they can't always be on at the same times every day. Being able to setup driver training to auto-run in advance would allow them to still keep up, and not be hindered even more so just because they have to be somewhere in the real world, and not logged in here starring at a screen until the samle time every single day.

If you can't be here 7 days a week, then don't race 7 days a week. In any case if 10 minutes of your time is too much to spare, then why are you playing this game?

You have no idea how hectic their life is so please drop the 10mins argument, its rubbish.

Why is it rubbish? They want auto 5/5 qual, they want auto training, some people even want the ability to preset push levels when they are AFK. I agree with David. Why some people play this game is beyond my understanding. If you can't spare 30 seconds in your day to train your drivers then why are you even playing? If you're going away for a holiday, step out of your league for a while.

So if you have to work late 1 week, and early the next, you need to drop out all the time, and ruin your development because you always get NEXT season's car each time you rejoin/change.

So because people have a life, they have to now change league, instead of staying in a league and racing against the people they have done for a while, against the people they have grown to know, and enjoy chatting with while they race huh?

I used to play another game, and will do again soon when it returns, where you could do all these things in advance. Yes you could do design, race and quali strategy. Race strategy by EVERY single lap, with different driver orders, even going so far as to have orders in place for if you were ahead or behind a certain driver/car by a certain margin. The point is it's a management game. It's about testing your development and race strategy against everyone else, on a level playing field, regardless of if you can be on at the exact same time every day to watch dots go round in circles.
David Lyons
... then why are you playing this game?

Oh rest assured, the ONLY reason I'm still on this game is because of those people in my league, and not because of this game being any good. It's purely a filler of my time. And this game will continue to be nothing but a filler so long as they listen to people like you who believe that a game like this should only be played by people like yourself who have no life so that they can be on 24/7.

Well said Matt, and in fairness u hardly ever miss a race apart from when family problems/appointments come up and cant be online for rest of evening and can't do your race or training.
Apart from the bit about only still playing for for the peoples in our league, i still love the game itself and you and every1 else in our league are all nob ends! hehe :P :D

It's not just me that has a real life either. Look at Dave, and Cooper, and Asim, Brent, Adam, etc etc. Sometimes we can't all be on at the same time, but we all want to race against each other, not go looking for a new league every week because our real life won't let us be on 24/7 like some seem to think we need to be.

Briefly:
[list]
[*]5/5 qualifying is not convenience, it's realism. Any real racer who does not push for 10/10ths on a qualifying lap would lose his job in a heartbeat.
[*]Auto training IS a convenience and moreover a bit perplexing to me, since I do different combinations after each race. So I'm not sure I see the benefit.
[*]Preset push levels - Unnecessary if there is 5/5 qualifying, because you can therefore set an overall strategy for the race which is quite realistic. While it would be more realistic to come up with a more detailed in-race strategy (i.e. push at the start, then back off), it's not a high-priority feature whatsoever.
[*]I'm very happy that David Lyons finds so much self-importance from his standing in his league and his commitment to iGP Manager. I guess everyone must excel somewhere.

Exactly, we've all got other stuff that sometimes takes priority like looking after kids, house hunting, recovering from injury etc.

Like matt has already said, alot of us are only still here because of the banter we all share in our leagues. I have raced against matt since the game went public in december and when myself, matt or a few others have switched leagues the rest have switched also.

And if people are gonna start moaning about being stuck behind a slower driver i would like to point to the Indian F1 GP when i believe raikkonen was stuck behind massa for a good chunk of the race.....it happens. just have to adapt strategy to get round the problem.

How does working late stop you from training your drivers? Do you work 24 hours a day and can't spare 1 minute?

Also, your point about leaving the league and rejoining with next seasons car is wrong any way. If you leave a league, you keep your current car. If you rejoin a league, you join with your current car. It never forces next seasons design upon you. Why do you think there was so many complaints a while back about league hoppers? They would join a league with a 100% car, do 16 races and leave before Abu Dhabi for a new league keeping their 100% car

I'm sorry but I still don't get the entire point (Tony). All drivers push hard at some point in every race aswell.. It makes less sense having auto qual pushing if the push in races isn't auto aswell.

Then you don't understand much of todays racing. If Alonso would push 5/5 in race - he would have killed his softs after 5 laps...
So drivers today have to adjust how they push without killing the tires.
But every driver does his qually lap in 5/5...
And that's exactly how it is now in iGPM - and that' s fine!
Edit:
So if I can not take part at the race for some reason, I will set the pace to something between 1/5 an 3/5 (depending on the track) and have a chance do do a race that is corresponding to the teams level - and not to the amount of time I have...
If I had to set 1/5 in qually I could stop playing iGPM - and no real driver will do 1/5 in qually.

Train at 6pm, race at 7pm on sunday, have to work nights so you won't be on at 6pm monday because you won't be home, thus you CAN'T TRAIN. Or did you forget you can only train once a day/24 hours?

Oh, train at 3am when you get home huh? You've still lost half a day, oh and then when you are back to not working nights you have to get up still at 3am to train, or else lose another day. All because you can't set up in advance that you'd like to train 'x' for the next few days.

Is it that hard to understand for you people?
