Can u actually train them or is basically a search engine for young drivers, as it seems all u can do is make them appear (And they are pretty rubbish drivers so far) then either release them or hire them to a race drive?

also all u can see is there talent level and no other attributes.

might be good for rookie managers but i cant see the value to experienced elite managers at mo??

The target (internally) was a pretty ambitious one: to get this idea live within 48 hours of coming up with it. That was achieved (with about 1 hour to spare). As you can imagine, things that would have been nice to add can come later. There wasn't enough time to get them in to the initial verison.

Currently the talent is capped to the managers scouting level +1, but I could (and perhaps should in hindsight) uncap it so that it's possible to get drivers significantly more talented than would be available otherwise.

Where can you view the driver academy at?

Just a suggestion, but I would like to see it go uncapped. I'm a few levels away from level 10, but once reaching level 10 why would I be interested in a 10/11 talent driver when at level 7 I was able to pick up a 15/16/17 level driver?

The young driver academy sounds awesome, but I also believe driver levels should be uncapped. At level 8 I have a 17 and 14 talent level emplyed on my team, so I would not really want to downgrade. I definatly like the idea though. I am a fan of grooming your own driver rather then picking one up as a Free Agent.

In its current guise i think its only of benefit to rookie managers, but you have to be level 10 to get it so rookie managers cant use it, i suggest opening it up to maybe level 5 or level 6 in its current form and then when the add ons come (Higher talent and slow training) it can be a facility update for level 10 or something like that.
(This is just example)

like the idea but needs work as Jack said it was rush job.

I've changed it to uncapped now, it will be possible to find drivers with 20 talent from the youth academy (something you can't even find on the market).

As a manager with level 10 I find drivers with talent 18 at the moment (do not know if there are driers with talent 20 available). So I think you mix up talent and overall performance?

Chapman, at the moment the only 18 talent drivers are old drivers that are due to retire at any moment, that have high atrophy rate, which is really difficult to train up generally.

I'm hearing that a level 12 team found a Talent 20 Driver but his overall level is 4... that is a big downgrade?

Future investment David. I wasn't aware Jack said it was uncapped now so I suppose I can believe Adam now. The problem is they will have to be really young. Hiring a 20 talent who is only level 3 or 4, even if they are only 20yo, probably isn't worth it to be fair.

It will be atleast 5-6 seasons before they are even relatively good, so you'd have to be extremely patient, and imo it's just not worth it. I'm going to stick with my two 18 talents for now, unless I manage to find a young 20 talent who is 17 or 18yo.

Sorry thats not true - I have filtered for drivers younger than 20 and I found a driver with talent 18 and many with 17:

He has a overal performance of 4 - but some talent 16 drivers have a level of 10...

This screenshot proves the existance of a 20 talent driver at level 4 :)

Jack, are all the Young Drivers Level 4? So far, after looking in some league chats, Level 4's are what we are getting.

It could be higher, but it's a game of chance. The point is that any young driver does need a lot of training to be brought up to speed in real life. Maybe in future revisions to this system I will build a training scheme in to the YDA, it makes sense at least.

The other benefit of this system is the lower end of the driver market will be getting flooded with all these high talent drivers which rookie managers can scoop up.

In that case why dont you cap the higher level guys so they cant get lower level Drivers.

I'm fine with level 4 drivers, I'm giving mine to my gf's team who is a passive player, and have her train them up to competivity.

I've decreased the likelihood of acquiring a talent 20 driver in response to Gary's post.
