I ask a vailed question and my thread gets locked.

I wanted a promise from the developers that updates are not just being rolled out because it is coming up to the 1 year subs ended and wanted a promise that updates will still be coming after this one.. a vaild question for ALL the members who have subs coming up for renewal... My post gets locked..

Then ok.. I am done with this game and you can kiss my £40 a year good bye and also to the other 6 who are paid accounts have said they are not renewing...

That post was a valid post that wanted a direct answer from one of the devs that updates will be coming more oftern... I guess that the locking of that thread touched a nerve somewhere...

Shame that it's my last season here... Only good thing is that I am saving £40. :D

In the other thead, you ask.

Edwin Smith - Rob, I am not sure what sort of answer you expect here.

A promise from the actual devs that updates won't be coming out only once per year.. We have put money in to this game and had very very little in the way of updates coming our way..

I won't put my hand in my pocket again if it is going to be the same as this last year... We sit there races over and over and can see clearly the simple bugs that needs addressing... I am not (Nor others.) willing to pay again if these updates are only coming out after 1 year of waiting.

I didn't flame anybody or have a moan about another driver or team.. So there is no reason to close that last thread... unless I touched a never somewhere.

Yeah I have to agree 100% and everyone who is paying in our league will also agree. This game has had nothing good done to it for what seems like a year and only now that it's March again, the time where the deal I bought last year was introduced that people actually come out and promise updates.

My problem with all this rubbish is that there still is no physical evidence of updates that make us who just want to have fun racing with mates actually want to keep paying into this. I am jobless and was looking forward to a free version of 2D that has been talked about for a while, yet still hasn't appeared. Even some pictures would improve user confidence in this product.

This game isn't the reason I stayed all this time, it was my mates in this game. Well we can go play something that isn't in so much need of help.

We have tentatively scheduled this update to roll out on Saturday March 16th

The new free viewer:

I don't have an issue with the update happening.. It's really good to hear..

I want to know what happens a month after the release.. Is that it again for another 12 months?

I just want to be reasured by the developers themselves that updates will be happening more oftern.

That way. I know if I am going to put my hand in my pocket or not.

I don't have spare cash lying around like others do. I have my own place that I have to pay bills towards and so on...

I am more than happy to keep paying my subs as long as I get an answer from the horses mouth to say that they will be working on the game more and updates will happen more often than this one, that we have been waiting for, for over a year now.

I can't see how this is an unreasonable request tbh.

I can't answer that, hence my response derived from Ethans post (re: pictures for assurance) xD

Hopefully someone can help you though Rob.

Jason, I've never seen so little work done into that update. No track map means no buy.

None the less it's still a significant improvement on the current free viewer. I think many users will benefit from it.

No track map means no buy.

I don't get it. What incentive is there to buy if you are already given it?

I think that it's a great step forward that the F2P have more information.

I hope as well that the subscription side gets more bits as well... A little more info or some other nice little extras in the background.

I can 100% understand that it takes time / money / effort and so on...

but on the flip side.

People are paying their hard earned cash in to this game... (For me personally, It's got the potential to be the out and out class game in it's genre bar none!) So getting some responces from the devs themselves is not asking to much is it ?

I am trying to also cool this place down with all the arguments / drama by elimination Edwin and David by getting the devs to respond and thus taking the "I know, I know - but I can't tell you" issues that is happening and people flaming back at these guys because they are in the know and can't say anything...

I can 100% understand David and Edwins situation of not being able to tell us things.. but this isn't helping when the game is crashing or having other issues and then a bill landing on my lap for £5.49 per month and nothing has happened in a whole year except some noises added to the game.

So by elimination Edwin and David and getting a responce from the devs themselve will stop a lot of anger dealt towards them. :)

EDIT...

I think that it is awesome that they have a sponcership with Inside Sim Racing, as I am on that site racing sim racing with Touring Pro Series who has their forums and live streams with I.S.R.. and with the other sponcers + the subscription payments... I want to know what the game is "hoping" to offer over the next year..

I honestly don't care if the only 100% answer is that they will be releasing small updates once ever 1 or 2 months.. Then that is a 100% improvement. As it stands, we get very very little feedback from the actual developers of the game, but still putting money in to it... I pay towards this game, I think I have the right to know where it goes to and towards.

Some news is better than no news.

Well my subscrioption is up at the end of the month, that is what I'm on about and I know that £30 is far better spent elsewhere if that is the best they can do.

Nah what I mean is the way you worded it is that the 2D viewer has to be free to make it worth your £30, but what I am saying is why on earth would you be paying £30 if 2D was already free? "No track map means no buy" - You're saying the track map is what makes it worth buying, but then you're saying it should be free to make it worth buying? I don't get it.

Are you meaning to say you were hoping for improvements elsewhere to make it worth your money or?

Ethan, you just said that you are jobless. Therefore, in my humble reasoning, you shouldn't be spending money in a online game if it isn't up to your standards. Or any standard, for that matter.

That's a very correct decision, and I really respect it.

But just now we got news that a new free system is going to be released, that will significantly improve the free user experience, and you want free 2D aswell? As Jason has said, what incentive is there to buy if you are already given it for free? You didn't address this question.

What Jason just said. This is a thing that I already called for a long time ago, and they haven't changed.

The communication part of the whole dev team really should be upgraded a bit.

Well I am looking for way more depth to this game cause without some way of making the cars individual or for quali to make sense and not have results where a driver that has a whole 8 point to his name, out qualifyes the championship leaders by over half a second, and for this game not to make people who by into this game, have an advantage when competing. I also think that this game is only fun if you can see what is going on on track. We had a Manager join us on TeamSpeak cause he didn't have 2D and relied on us to tell him what his tyres were, but he didn't have control of Kers so we were only able to help his results improve slightly.

When we gave him our reward points so he could get the 2D viewer with track map and such, he immediately had more fun and was more competitive, he's even won a race which had he still being on F2P would never have happened against us.

The subscription model should give benefits to people who pay in, when they aren't racing, not when they are. Currently that is how I see it, it's "Pay to Win" or "Win more Often."

Now, I have no problem with people on F2P beating those on the subscription, my problem is the enjoyment you get and without paying, the enjoyment is near enough zero, cause this game becomes so boring without being able to see the cars on track. Go watch an F1 race with no commentary and watch the numbers, not the cars. I expect you to fall asleep especially if it's Valencia and that is what the F2P is in my view.

Having options aren't any good if there is no context in which to use them well. What good would it be if I was to make my driver go from 1/5 to 5/5 if they've already gone pass the DRS where currently I push my driver to help close the gap to get them in range. Without a track map, I can't do that without being able to see the track.

What people don't see is that I run a PC community and we have a few members (Some signed up to here and then left.) that give me feedback about it and what is awesome about the game and also feedback from the onces who have left.

The crazy fact is.. I will possibly know more than the devs of why people leave, as the ones who do leave, just go and only one person has made a post about why they are leaving... I have had verbal feedback about it from 7 members who signed up and left the game..

Geoff Smalley - 2 accounts.
Speedphlux - 3 accounts.
Gul Abul - 1 account
Cripier - 1 account.
Chris Sykes - 1 account.
KlosterKatten - 1 account.

and honestly... Someone called Silent Fart... :D

We also have had feedback from people who have left the league and stopped playing... 1 person who has said that he is waiting to re-join the league is James Healey... He has logged on a few times since he left but isn't coming back until changes have been made.

We do this in Team Speak and we talk about the game and where it is wrong and where it's has the chance to be by far and away the best game of it's type.. (Notice I didn't just say browser..)    ;)

It's just issues of feedback..

Again. I am sorry if I hit a nerve here, but the last proper update was around 1 year ago.. As the new season is upon us and the subscriptions are coming to an end... ohhh we have an update..

So I just want an answer from one of the main people to say that these are not the only updates for this year and we will be doing blagh blagh blagh....

Again. I don't care if it's small updates every few months. That is at least better than the past year..

I won't re-new and nor will others if they feel the same way as I do.. I'm not even on the 1 year plan.. If a new deal does come out. I want in, but only if updates happen more often..

I'm also one of the founders of F2P getting the actual 2D with subscriptions being changed toward having the advantage behind the scenes.. Faster ranking and bigger and better equipment and so on.. that a F2P should have every right to beat a paid person.. with the right setup / strategy.. but again, the Paid account will win out in the end, because they will still rank faster and get to the better goodies 1st... (Search for some of my ideas on how I think subscriptions should work.)

Fair point. I think this has been discussed pretty recently and I was +1 for it.

Edit: Some kind of push per lap or push per stint setting would be a good implementation aswell as some kind of "advanced kers strategy" if it was possible.

I didn't flame anybody or have a moan about another driver or team.. So there is no reason to close that last thread... unless I touched a never somewhere.

It started as a statement about everyone working on iGP, accusing us of putting up a "smoke screen" to get your money. By all means complain about a lack of progress updates, but don't pretend to know the reasons behind it and attack our character. When you do that, we're going to dismiss it because that's not a reasonable discourse. That is why the thread was closed.

It's not, but the way it was presented was. Now that you're being more reasonable, I'm happy to answer the question. We will be releasing more updates this year. The last year went in a completely different direction than anticipated, some things were delayed, others brought forward.

Rather than explaining it all here, I'll write a detailed blog about everything we've achieved so far (in the next few days) behind the scenes, and what to expect in the year ahead. I think all users have a legitimate right to feel we haven't given you enough information. Honestly, a lot of it is not very exciting stuff, like we got an accounting firm to work with, a server management team, a new developer, a new server architecture, helpdesk personnel, not to mention fixing the simulator stability etc. These things were very time consuming behind the scenes but provide little to no visible improvement to the user. But we did them all because we want to keep improving things in to the future. And without those things it was very hard for us to get any work done, because we had to do it all ourselves. Ironically, in this first year they have taken a lot of focus off development, but they have been put there to allow unhindered development going forward.

I wasn't being funny or attacking. It was actual put as I was laughing about it.

It's the same with all text based messages I guess. You read it in the way you want and sometimes it's not read as it's was put in the 1st place. So I am sorry if you thought that, I was messing about as a joke tbh...

I do find it funny that this update has come at the time that the subsctiptions are coming to the end and to be 100% honest. I don't care if it's that update or even 5% of that update.. It's still a step forwards.. So that is good news.

SUPERB news about the blog and that you have listened to one of the posts I made and some other managers have as well.. It will be so much better just to know about some things.. Even if it's a trip to a company you are not allowed to tell us about until afterwards.. You would probably get 100+ replies of good luck. :)

I am at the moment trying to stop 4 members leave the game as we speak.. So yeah. I maybe a bit forward.. but there is a reason why.

If they quit, then I don't know if I would carry on, because I can only race 3 times per week and the no one else races the same days as us, or anything like the days or times...

So if we lose 4 paying members out of our leaue, that is us done really.. We have also got to know each other over the past year and have a good chat in Team Speak & the chat box in game.

It is like a family where all are welcome. Danile Blanco has just join us and he comes in to Team Speak. He told me that he has learnt so much from what we have advised him about and he looks forward to iGP nights.. :D He comes in for 2 hrs and has a good laugh with us talking rubbish all night and has a good crack.

We have adopted him as our "In house Crazy Canadian." (He is going to hit the roof when he reads that. lololol)

We even clubbed together and passed him our reward points to get the 2D for a month.. He wants it for a year now.. He is hooked. lol.

People are going to come at go regardless I think. Take Jaxon Voom and Jamie Franklin for example, two players who just disappeared without warning and were two of the "best" managers on the game. Who were they and why did they just vanish?

But I do see your point Rob, it would be a shame to lose people over something like that.

Thread gets closed at the moment quite often,.. If ther eis standing no positive feedback you can guess it will be closed soon ,..

So posting something in the forum is usless anyway. I still wait for Q2 2012 patch to work with the laptimes in qualy,.. . Not even this could be fixed.
Nice to give non subscribers more chance to see what is going on in a race, i like that.

Would it not be time to have a need of use both compounds in a race ? that would it make a lot more fun and less static as it is now. Instead of doing little things (ok, not really little) like this, the devs are busy already more then half a year with a new design system that will never be introduced as it has too much bugs (just comparing to the laptimes). That is actually what borders me the most. A lot of Bla bla,... and very little comes along.
What was archieved in the last year for the player ? not so much but things changed in the background,.. they say,..
