New Jersey has been listed as one of three provisional venues on the 22-race F1 calendar for the 2014 season.

I think we finally got a season that everybody would enjoy. 22 races so lots of TV watching. New rules, new cars, new drivers, new countries that F1 will visit.

(Just keep Vettel away of Poles and Wins. For the good of sport!)

I Hope they drop Monaco.
But that's never gonna happen

Why Ben, it's a good track. I'd prefer it if they dropped a track like Korea.

They should drop Spa, Monaco, Gilles Villenuve, Silverstone, Melbourne, Nurgeyburgy... bring back classics like Turkey... Fire off Eccleston and his crew... Stop aero downforce (Putting the front wing back to the nose, as that is when the overtaking started to be a pain.) then go off and make their own series that is geared towards mechanical grip over aero...

I have been watching F1 for nearly 30 yrs and these past 3 or 4 season has been the worst in the whole history of the sport. Hence why I have stopped watching it as of the end this seson gone... Really not interested in listening to buzzing flies going around like a Scalextric thanks.Racing is no more with the current setup.. I would rather see mechanical grip over aero..

B.T.C.C has been superb over the past 4 or 5 yrs and getting better each season. They have got back to the great days of the early to mid 90's and for me, they are not pro drivers, just dam dam dam good top amateurs. So you'll always get some nice hits each race =)

Monaco has an atmosphere.

But racing there is a bit massacritic.

=========================================================================================

What about Mexico? It got small chances to stay in calendar, but I think it's a good idea to bring cars back to Hermanos Rodriguez.

I like the more challenging tracks like Monaco and then the faster tracks like Monza, but we need a large mix of different tracks. Fast, slow, dangerous, fun etc...

How is grand prix of Austria?

Austrian GP comes back after 8 years. Contract has been signed in July, Red Bull is a main sponsor of whole event. They say Grand Prix of Austria became very popular and all the tickets are now sold.

From Twitter a few weeks ago, I saw that Mexico, Port Imperial and Korea werent on for the 2014 season but if im going to be honest, I dont think the calendar has been confirmed for next season so I think it is a patient waiting game. The official Formula 1 website has also got 22 races on for next season but 3 of them still have a * on them

i personally think that the most important thing is to bring more tyre suppliers in and bann Pirelli from ever making tyres again.

Michelin forever :-))

2 simple things they could change is go back to manual gearboxes save a shit load of money in the process , Stop any pit to car contact let the driver think for himself and not totally rely on the pit wall to get to them to end of the race. Simple cheap changes that would spice it up

I love our forum. We are guaranteed to get all poles of opinion in the first few posts.

I certainly recall Bernie saying there would never be more than 20, but he is a capitalist like the rest of us, so money talks. They would do it every weekend if the money was right & fit those hedgehog shooting things someone was talking about a while ago.

Is Nascar less exciting because there is more of it? (longer races, 40 ish a year)

Is Drag racing less exciting because it all happens in 4 or 5 seconds?

Is Touring car racing exciting because it is a contact sport? (BTCC or WTCC)

I think there is space for all.

If I could find a way to listen to all the chat in the Ferrari garage next season, that alone would keep me entertained all year.

I'm sorry, are you on drugs? Turkey is not a classic, unlike all the tracks you named before that! (I sincerely hope that you are kidding)
As for BTCC, you are right, but it's a shame that for the last three years Honda was victorious. What does Plato have to do? Switch to Honda too?

I am on about the track, not the place.. If you took the exact track layout and put it in somewhere like France, would you not say that it would be one of the biggest on the calandar? Turkey was only let down by it's location.

I never said that it was a bad track, but it's not a classic. It's a modern track. The location was bad, but there's nothing that we can do now...

Also, if I was in charge, I'd bring back Brands Hatch.

It's by no means upto the standards of today's F1.

Here's some shots of Silverstone, during the weekend of the 2001 British Grand Prix:

Silverstone invested millions into infrastructure and better parking places, just for that one weekend of Formula 1 in the year.
F1 won't go to Brand Hatch anytime soon.

Jaap is correct, unless you are going to move the people who live about 50 yards from the track
