How is it worked out, both drivers same levels, set up and tactics ect, but last 3 races qualfing miles apart.

Last 2 races, 3 shoppers are out qualifying me that are 4 stops, in theory I should be lighter,
Even though i at the front all season and car design says I'm near the top.

For example both cars 4 stop qualifying in 7th and 23rd, it doesnt make sense. Really think about leaving the game as this area needed major improvements. I support you guys finacally but don't see improvements in the games biggest weakness.

Regarding qualifying fuel, all cars qualify on minimum fuel, the first stint fuel load is not taken into account so fuelling for a shorter first stint will not help with qualifying.

I had a quick look at your last race and indeed, the difference in qualifying pace between your two drivers was more than I would expect. 0.85 seconds on the same tyres is a big gap.

Were both drivers given the same opportunity? Were both drivers at 100% health? Had you renewed engines on both cars? Were both drivers given their preferred suspension, wing and ride height settings?

im in the same league as Nathanial. and i concur. Both my drivers are almost identical, and in some previous races the qualifying positions didnt ratify there practice performance . Coulndt u implement, low fuel qualifying then starting with full fuel, if the league wanted too, then with fuel use the big 4 could become the big 5, as a higher DP fuel level would then mean less fuel in the car on the grid etc etc.

Same as boost, 2 many times its down to the last lap for all to boost, i for 1 have used this tactic, and dont particularly like it. Couldnt u just take boost out of the game or again implement an option before the start of the season to either use boost or not, same with full fuel loads. I for 1 would love to see that in our league, qualifying, then race with no boost and full fuel, as the league is very competitive and think there could be more than 2/3 race team winners when it all down to strategy for tyres.

Both my driver are perfect set up and fully repaired cars and engines. But there an huge gap in qualifying that dont make sence, happens to often know.

As for me doing anything with the game it isn't possible. I'm just a Mod who volunteers some of my time to help organise the forum and bring issues to the attention of the developers because they don't have time to trawl through the forum.

Nathaniel. I'm stumped, I have no idea why there's such a huge gap between your drivers. I'll mention it to the iGP Team who will no doubt have a look when they get time. They won't tell you or me why the gap exists but they will be able to understand if it there is a genuine reason for it. Have you any other drivers who you could swap out for a couple of races with the slower one?

One possible explanation. Have you done any Quick Races? If so that would explain one driver having lower health which would slow them in qualifying.

Both drivers are on 100 health as both never needed training, it happened for the last 2 races In the row know the big difference. Drivers health 100% both cars fully repaired, both on the same set up. Don't do quick races

I'm sorry about this unforeseen event.
That said, your account history shows that your second driver, the one who qualified worse than your first driver, has a used engine.
Your first driver shows a 91% engine while your second driver has a 72% engine.
You can verify this yourself by going to "Next Race" - "Set-Up.
I don't doubt your good faith, but that was the problem with your qualifications, a used engine...

It cant be right as the last 2 races it been new engines that been used like I normally do, I even brought more engines to cover this as was running out, last two races i used 2 new engines on both cars. Is there an issue where the game not using new engines or a bug on my account. (guess I my engines are going to waste)

Fair enough guess that the problem but not convinced , but think for some reason the game not been using my engines I have brought as you can see from the record I used token to buy new engines and always change them every race. Thanks for the response, appericate the reprocess.

Hi Nathaniel.

I assure you that nobody in the iGP team doubts your word. Please can you monitor the situation, renew the engines as usual noting the number you had before renewing and the number afterwards. Then double check the "Repair" tab to check both cars are displaying 100% in engines. Finally after the race please can you check the percentage wear on both engines is the same.

This is really odd, not something I've seen reported before but it does suggest a bug of some sort.

I'll report this to the developers as a possible bug, your help in understanding what is happening will be appreciated.

As previously written, only one car with a new engine was shown in the last race.
That said, I checked your account, it shows no bugs. Everything is working properly.
However, I have provided you with an extra engine, but please pay attention to your car in the future.

The thread you linked isn't relevant. Things have changed in response to Gary's thread, driver errors have been removed and the devs inform us that fuel economy now influences qualification.

In any case we have already ascertained that in this case the widely differing qualifying times were because one of the cars was running an old engine.

What about "hidden" attributes where drivers clearly have preferences for certain tracks or track types that can been seen in historical qualifying/finishes trends? Have they been eliminated along with "driver errors"?

Hi Bill.

Like you I am just a player of this game. In the 5 years I have been playing the game the concept of hidden driver attributes has been raised on a number of occasions. We have never had a response from the developers either confirming or denying their existence.

Mods do not receive any information about game mechanics from the developers, we only get to see the changelog and announcements that are available to all players. So for me driver hidden attributes remain an unconfirmed possibility.

Things haven't changed imho.

For example in this whole season my driver usually qualify in the bad half of grid but in race he is quicker than most of the other drivers...

Today race
Russian gp
2th (first with soft) 1.39.508
18th zanardi (soft) 1.39.681 This car sucks because the manager entered the season in the 7th race of the championship
20th D'addario (me with soft) 1.39.709

Race
My driver (d'addario) arrived 8th
Zanardi arrived 15th with same strategy

This is just the last example but there are a lot of it....how can you say things have changed if mods doesn't know game mechanics?

I too have experienced the qualifying problem this season. I have been playing the game for nearly 5 years and up until now have always had a mixed bag when it comes to qualifying, sometimes good, sometimes mid field and occasionally towards the back. This season for the first time ever I have consistently qualified in the last one or two. This is definitely not random. The same team and drivers last season in a different (but still competitive) league were regularly qualifying well and winning the occasional race. This season has been an absolute nightmare.

I must admit that never having experienced it I was sceptical about this qualifying nightmare but honestly, once you've experienced it you'll know.

Yes I agree. But this thread was started by Nathaniel and his particular problem was caused by one of his cars having a worn engine which is why the link to the other thread isn't relevant.

According to the devs they have changed things, I can only take that at face value. And like you I'm still experiencing poor qualifying when I compete against top managers. I don't know why, I have just assumed they're better than me at some aspect of the game because they always seem to qualify well.

And regarding my comments. It was six months ago before the changes were introduced. And I stand by those comments, the devs said it was random and my experience suggested it was anything but random.
