is it possible to have a 3rd driver where if you have a better driver in that position it speeds up development (even more if you get both the rigs) or gives even better default setups (if you have the simulator), just an idea that i thought would be quite cool.

No, it isn't.
I suggest bothering to read guides and rules before posting many different topics with very simple answers constantly.

how do guides and rules have anything to do with a suggestion?
Chaz Bradley medal 5000 11 years 18 days ago
Bradley, it's only a suggestion. Without these how will the gamre progress? Ciaran, are you refering to like a 'Test driver'?

As I have just posted....
We need to treat one another with respect.
Whilst some may think that a suggestion is invalid, we welcome all suggestions.
We would ask that before making a new post here, you search the forum to see whether your ideas have already been responded to.

I kind of like the idea of having a 3rd driver. Instead of doing pre-race setups for both of your "main" drivers, you could groom a driver with high technical and mental marks and have him/her do the weekend setups. How well the "main" drivers adapt to the setups could be a function of their development.
Intriguing...

I'm really fascinated by both Ciarán and Tony's ideas.

I want to be able to have 2 drivers at once for free. Maybe if you decide to add this, you should make it a paid feature and make a second driver free

In terms of 3rd driver if it was ever introduced, i would like it this way,
You could have a 3rd driver signed just as 1st & 2nd drivers, in the race setup you can do the 3rd drivers setup aswell and everyone's 3rd driver also does a qualifying time and they then be on a list down the left hand side of the qualifying page next to the grid so u can compare there times to the real grid and can judge there performance, they should also be able to be trained in the same way and your regualr drivers,
This would also help a little to do away with multiple teams for driver training as well.
weather there was someway to help the regular drivers car settings for the race is an extra option as well.
Probably all a nightmare to introduce in the way i suggested but.......

I would like this as a test driver. Or maybe you could do a young driver test at the 9th, 10th race of the season.
Ciarán Gray medal 5000 11 years 14 days ago
That sounds good aswell! I think anyway that it gets done would take a while to put in the game

Depending on your level or if you've subscribed, there could be a limit on what level driver you can hire.
Also you can also trade Test drivers? Like A Loan To Gain experience

Gary, I would of thought that on the 'Next race tab' there could be tab named Test driver just like there is Driver 1 & 2. I thought that If you get 15 test runs rather than 10, you can use 5 for the test driver and gain good feedback and a more reliable setup. This may encourage people to use their test driver on days when not racing as if your normally active before the race, you try and do your setup as close as you can before the setups lock so that the setup matches the track conditions etc.
I think it's a great idea. Also, another thing to add is, like Gary said, the chance to see lap times of your test driver when doing the test runs (not next to the quali times but when you do a setup and the driver goes round the track). Then you could compare laptimes etc. I was wondering whether seeing lap times on test runs with your actual drivers was going to happen but if its not, then that could also be a bonus.
