JAVA broken on my pc specifically

So I don't have a clue what happened. Java was working fine the browser "says" I have version 7 U51 and that everything is as it was prior but the last two days I have had nothing but the white loading screen with the Java cicrle rotating about while trying to load into any of the races. I don't know if this is happening to anyone else, (asked my league in the league page and got no response), and I know if this has happened before but it's stupidly frustrating. I've already uninstalled Java, restarted my pc, reinstalled java, looked at every one of my installed programs to see if something is blocking it. I've done all but everything. I know that I had recently installed Fiddler2 to experiment with another game I was playing but uninstalled that after the ecperiment failed but otherwise I haven't done anything that would prompt this kind of computer failure. Going to go try logging onto another PC and see if the same thing is happening but otherwise if anyone on here is very software savy and can help me out or flat out tell me what is wrong I would be extremely happy to have your help.

Suprise, suprise... Java has so many bugs!

same for me so i did a fresh install of windows and now works perfect well for the time being.

0.0 a fresh instal of windows... I have yet to ever need to do that :( anyone have any other suggestions before I have to do that?

believe may i have spent more time trying to fix java for it to work 1  day and not the next which is very frustrating. fresh install took me only 20 mins with no head ach so hopefully problem fixed.

Corey, simulation things have happened to me, try running OS X or Ubuntu in s virtual machine.

Java has always been incredibly buggy-- if you've tried wiping and re-installing a fresh updated copy of Java than I don't think there is much else you can do. It might have something to with the UAC though, so maybe try turning that off? I've never heard of it causing problems with Java but you never know with Java.

I'll try that but if that fails I guess I'll just reinstal windows and hope that works. The strange thing is I don't even get the warning from Java that it is trying to launch since it used to at the least do that on my comp before giving the loading page.

Still broken here sadly... Starting to wonder if anyone has a suggestion in terms of an alternate program to run instead of JAVA? Also I left a race loading via spectate since yesterday... so ya you can guess that, that hasn't worked. If I can't get it working by tomorrow I'll just reinstall windows and hope that works.

i have found a solution not ideal but works for me.

i reinstalled windows and it work for a while but as soon as i updated windows it didnt work any more.

so i had a spare hard drive  lying around so what i did was install windows on to that one updated graphics card and java turned of automatic updates and that is all whats on there, so now when its race time just boot from that drive and all is fine.

Sick and tired of trying stuff. Don't even know why we are using JAVA to run the game if we know how many issues people either are having or have had. Mind you I don't have any other suggestions but at the same time a program must exist that can run iGP better or at least without as many failures as Java.

I agree Java wasn't the best choice, but we all have a degree in hindsight.

I will ask one of my more technical colleagues to assist.

Hi Corey, sorry to hear you're having problems. If you've already tried all the usual suggested fixes for Java Could you try enabling the Java console before trying to run the viewer again so we can work out exactly what's going wrong?

Go to Windows control panel, click Java and then the Java control panel should pop up. Go to the advanced tab and under 'Java Console'  check the 'show console' box then hit 'okay'. 

Then if you try and run the viewer the Java console should pop up in a new window showing a pile of messages. They'll probably keep appearing for a while, just wait until they stop and copy and paste all the contents here.

hi i still have java issues on my main pc. i have a temp solution which was to fresh install windows 7 on a old hard drive turn of windows update update graphics card and java thats all i have on that hard drive so when i want to view a race i have to boot from that hard drive all the time then back to main hard drive after the race.

Hi Jason, it looks like your problems are probably the result of a firewall blocking the required port at 25010.

Try making sure that Windows firewall or whatever other security software you have isn't blocking it, and also make sure the port isn't blocked by your router.

If you type 'Windows firewall' into the search bar in the Windows start menu you can open it from there. Click advanced settings>inbound rules>new rule, select port and follow the wizard for TCP port number 25010.
Forwarding the port through your router will depend on what router you have so your best bet is to search for port forwarding instructions for your specific router model (which you'll probably find printed on the router). http://portforward.com/ has walkthrough for doing this with most models, but essentially you want to find a port forwarding option somewhere on your router's config page and add an exception rule for port 25010.

ok got that port open and port foward but still not working i have even turned of the firewall and still nothing.

It's possible that you're running an unsigned version of the viewer which would block connections with the most recent Java update. I'm not sure if you've already tried this but deleting the Java cache might help.

Open up the Java console and under the 'general' tab click 'Settings' under 'Temporary Internet Files' . In the pop up box check off all 3 boxes then click 'OK' and launch the viewer again. It'll download a totally new copy at this point so it'll take longer than usual, just be patient.

If you could post the contents of the Java console from this attempt after deleting the cache and with the required port and firewall open that would be helpful also.

If that doesn't work then another thing to do to test if it's a Java problem that's blocking the viewer is go to the security tab on the Java control panel, put the slider down to the lower security level ('medium' on the latest Java release) and then click 'OK'. If it runs like that it might narrow down the problem.
