I think there is a valid case to have a hold position or a do not pass button. There are many occasions that I would have liked to be able to hold my driver behind the car ahead of it, only to have them overtake the car ahead just a fraction of a second before the DRS zone. I think it is entirely reasonable that a team manager should be able to instruct their driver to hold their current position.

But on my main account, it doesn’t work much because lots of inactive players.

PL1 certainly helps, but not in every situation.

I have never had any trouble with using PL1 excluding some situations, you just need to think out what PLs to use to get the DRS from the backmarker

True, but like Luke said, it doesn’t work in every situation.

If you want to further demolish the skill required to fight for wins and championships, this is a great idea. Unfortunately, most successful players don't want to do so, and nor do new players want to have it easy (I hope). Managing backmarkers and push strategies is crucial in iGP and if you can't do it, you just need more experience 🤷
I hope I don't come across as condescending or the like, I'm just explaining that in iGP you need to learn everything, because if you don't then you don't win. Judging where a backmarker is a lap before you will catch them is a crucial skill in this and one any good player is always learning.

If you can't hold position using PL1, you're better off passing the car ahead anyway...
