The new update not allowing you to buy free agents unless you have previously owned them is just really annoying, and limits the ability to move drivers between teams if they finish a contract.

I understand why it has been done, to stop teams hoarding good drivers, but there are so many high talent drivers that it doesn't really matter if one team hoards 10.

I don't know if anyone who asked for it, or likes it.

Hmmm, already 40+ votes in this poll, and it has only been 39 minutes since the poll went live? 🤔

My vote is 'No' by the way

How I understand it is you can still buy, just with 9 tokens now as opposed to 3. When released, it goes to auction and you instant buy then.

Makes no difference in terms of drivers, but logical when it comes to staff.

Yes, the above is correct but just remember that because of the recent changes, when you're transferring between teams the selling team must "Auction" instead of "Sell Now" to force the driver/staff into an auction site so that the receiving team can snap them up with a "Buy Now" for 9 tokens.

However, this is due to change in the near future when the Devs introduce the new system... Outline: New Transfer System & Offices HQ

I've seen this, but as I understand, it still means I cannot bring back a former driver's champion (for example), in my league as they have not driven for me before. I get that people could exploit the old system to hoard drivers and snap them up quickly, but really I, nor any other players I know, had a problem with it. It's just a pain to go onto old drivers from my league and see that they are locked and unable to be bought.

The main issue I have found is when accounts are innactive for months or years, but get to hold onto their drivers. In my view, if you are inactive for a certain period of time, your drivers and staff should be released. This is something discussed extensively within my league's discord server as there are lots of old drivers of ours in such a situation.

As I said before, I get the mods reasoning for the change, but I think it is unnecessary and a detriment to the game. Also unhelpful that, as mentioned above, someone has clearly corrupted the poll.

Hi Marco.

I think you misunderstand what a Mod is and how much power we have to bring about change. Mods are just gamers like everyone else, we carry out our Mod duties as volunteers and to do these duties we have limited additional privileges on the forum. As you say it looks like the poll has been corrupted but as a Mod I can't even see who has voted nor can I see who gives a "Thumbs Up" to a post (or indeed a "Thumbs Down" when they existed).

Mods are not employees of the company that develops iGP Manager so have not been involved in the decision to change the way in which buying and selling drivers happens. All we can do is use our experience to help other members of the community understand how the changes affect them.

We have a Volunteer discord server where we can discuss changes and on occasions Jack uses this to explain why he and the devs have made certain decisions. The reason for all of the recent changes has been to overcome a number of exploits which was skewing the market and will ultimately benefit all of us even though at the moment it seems otherwise.

Probably only another few weeks to wait and all will become clear and hopefully the new system will get a thumbs up from the majority of Managers.
