Hi iGPManager players
I need your help as I am looking to buy a driver who is free - his contract expired but I can not. He is simply locked. Can anyone help?

In a July 2021 update, the developers made the following change, "Free-agent Drivers and Staff can no longer be bought outside of an Auction. The exception to the rule is if a driver or staff member has ever been in your team before, then you may re-sign them. The capability to sign any free agent was being abused via browser scripts that scan all possible URLs, hoarding the best drivers and staff, with the aim of preventing other managers from accessing them. Such antics are no longer possible. We will also be looking in to improvements to the transfers system to offer more ways to access a wider range of drivers and staff.

Things have changed. Since those changes you can only buy free drivers for 3 tokens if you had already bookmarked them (you must have bookmarked the pilot before those changes occurred I think). Otherwise you can now only get drivers from the transfer market or from your own talent scout or re-sign drivers that have been members of your team in the past already.

This could be the reason the drivers you are looking at show as having a lock.

The marketplace forum does still have a use. If a manager sells a staff member to auction he/she does not necessarily appear on everyone's market list. By posting a link on the forum people are notified of the staff/driver availability and can bid or "buy-now".
