ok i have just raced at monaco and ran out of fuel in the pits after lap 11.
now here is the problem with that i fuelled with 29ltr of fuel which is enough for 10laps which is what i wanted.
actual fuel per lap used 2.7
my fuel calculation from prevoius races 2.8
so with them calculations i should have been fine with my 10 laps as predicted.
so what i need to know is why did both my drivers go and do an extra lap which made me run out of fuel in the pits.
with this problem how can u plan for a race if u cant watch it live.
i think something should be changed in the game were as u only do the laps u want to do regardless of fuel/tyres (as long as they are all good)
and or
you never run out of fuel in the pit lane only.
and advise is most welcome to understand why the extra lap ran and so i can avoid it in the futrue.
many thanks.

I was always curious as to why there isn't a lap oriented pit schedule with the fuel (so you still have to calculate).

I think the "no pitting" change is being looked in to..
Just a note for you though.. When Yuri and I was in TS last week. We was watching fuel stints and it seems as 0.4 is the cut off point to Auto pitting..
We had a 0.5 and a 0.6 come in.. but one of Yuri's stints was short and I can't remember if he did the calculations for it... or ... he made them go around again, knowing he was just about ok.. 0.4 was what he had on when in his box.

Its a Monaco thing!
Fuel usage at Monaco is 2.6 on push for & 2.7 on push hard for super soft
On softs its 2.7 push and 2.8 push hard
Auto pit would of pitted you on lap 10 with 29 litres
You would of had 0.3 in the tank while pitting
11 laps is 32 litres not 31 because if you added 31 it would still auto pitted you on lap 10
because 0.2 fuel is too little
Jason Mcrae medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
i only had 29ltrs so i should have pitted lap 10.
i have raced there twice this week and every thing went to plan like it should. it was just this race what ran an extra lap when it should have.
i hate little bugs like this robbed our race of a good close race finish.

Your pit box is at the far end of the pit lane?
In race analysis reason it said out of fuel lap 11 is cause you crossed the line while pitting on lap 10.
Happened to me once I pushed to hard on the in lap ran out of fuel beside my pit box :D
Reason being I was that used to being car numbers 1 & 2 When I joined new league & I was cars 31 & 32.
For me it's not a bug
It's the risk you take running fine margins you will be higher up the grid next season 29 litres will be fine cause you where at far end of the pits you needed 30 litres.
James Greer medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
On every track you will notice your fuel usage goes up 0.1 and your tyres get warmer when your running close behind another car things like that you need to account for when picking a race pace and fuel load.

i actually did do 11 laps on my lap summary it pitted after 11. (only put fuel in for 10 with 1ltr extra.)
on my other account same strat and and 1lt extra fuel it pitted after lap 10 with 1.6ltr of fuel left in tank.
James Greer medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
You started lap 11 while pitting on lap 10. you crossed the line in the pit lane.
you would never of got near the pits pitting at the end of lap 11 with 29L
not unless you where on back off race pace & in Monaco it's push for ss and push hard for s

just dont get it
10 laps @2.6 to 2.7 a lap is only 27ltrs of fuel i put in 29ltrs of fuel so i had more than enought to do 10 laps which i had planned for didnt push beyyond pl3.
my other 2 races done actually the same and they worked perfect 1 team at the front and one at the back both teams had pit after lap 10 this team had pit after 11.

what is the car numbers of the team that ran out of fuel and what are the car numbers of the teams that didn't?
What I'm trying to say is your pit box is past the start/finish line.
that's only reason lap 11 ran out of fuel they crossed the line to start lap 11 while in the pit lane.
But that my engine and fuel suppliers fuel usage at Monaco yours maybe different.
my tech tells me 2.9 for Monaco but he is a dummy he is level 7 with no experience I'm his first employer
James Greer medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
Your next race is turkey I'm guessing your pit box is past the start/finish.
if you set 10 laps again you will either pit on lap 9 or you will run out of fuel again

My Monaco race analysis 28L 10 Laps you will notice I pitted with 2.5 fuel :D

ok explain these screen shots same team just diffrent seasons with same engine and tyres with same strat and start fuel.
Jason Mcrae medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
James Greer medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
Try explain it this way.
cars 1-20 can carry less fuel than cars 21-32 during the race.
on the last pit stop cars 1-20 need one extra litre to reach the finish line otherwise they will pit in on the last lap
cars 21-32 can carry one litre less on the last pit stop.
Reason is where your pit box is in regards to the start/finish line.
You needed 30 litres to pit and reach your pit box not 29 litres
simple you crossed the line to start lap 11 while in the pits.
If you look at my screen shot I have the same problem,
if I was car number one I could of had 26 litres pit in and away
but because I'm pitting past the start/finish line I needed 27.
I put in 28 because last time I was cars 31-32 I ran out of fuel like you did.
I'm sorry communication is my weak point.
people on the radio asking how is the car feeling and how are your tyres.
Just shut up and let me drive. I would love to say like Kimi Räikkönen.
Jason Mcrae medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
ok i get what u are saying but my team has always been a front runner as in car numbers so ive always had the same give or take 1 slot in the pit lane garage.
same engine
sam tyres
same garage give or take 1 spot
same lap fuel usage give or take .1
same strat
same start fuel
so 1 season i enter pits after lap 10 with 2.1 fuel left
2nd season enter the pits after lap 11 with 0 fuel left
so same team sameish pit garage but totl diffret results
my only assumption is wiith tis time round with me have an extra 1ltr of fuel the drivrs toughtt hey had enough fuel to do another lap but only if i didn push. but seeing as i did like everyone does i pushed with pl3i rn out of fuel.
this shouldnt happen.
so in future will manualy pit on th lap i fuelled for if it dosnt do it by itself.
James Greer medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
better to be safe than sorry mate ;)
one pit slot difference can still be a big difference on some tracks
all my pit stop a very finely cut 0.2, 0.1 even 0.0 when I was car numbers 1 & 2
now I need add more fuel cause I'm lower down
I would like to remind you again fuel usage goes up 0.1 running behind another car
Tyre temps increase also
so its better to have let teammate past clicked in advance options.
Jason Mcrae medal 5000 9 years 262 days ago
im always safe hence why i have an extra 1ltr of fuel. Every track i race on i always have 1 to 2 ltr left in tank and stop when i wanted to its only this time round it messed up.
u cant put to much extra fuel in because you will end up doing an extra lap any way, And must times it will be on very worn tyres if there on the limit as most times they are.
