Ok. Mostly curious if there are any changes to in-race balance. ?

Hello,

Nothing related to car or driver attributes.

Found this on iPad:

...so there are also changes to at least "dirty air" for "closer racing". Interesting. Will wait for a more complete list, thanks.

Hello,

Those changes are the same as published in the last changelog, just those weren’t announced for the stores.

Thanks! I like the changes—a lot.

Question: with no refueling, shouldn't all cars start with the same fuel weight/litres?  | This is because if there's a regulation for no refuling then fuel economy should now be locked the same for all teams and all cars would also burn the same max litre per km for example.
As it sounds now, cars will all have varying weights which seems less desirable for close racing especially for those in Elite who are around level 17 and below. They will be as a disadvantage unless they dump more ratio of points into fuel economy. Whereas with a regulated fuel burn all teams - regardless of level unlocked - will have the same rate of fuel economy and same fuel weight, thus encouraging closer racing.

Hello,

No, that’s not the case. It opens a new kind of strategies in terms of car development. You can decide whether to take risk or not, to spend more DP in FE or not, etc. Nullifying FE isn’t the way to go from our point of view, finally that attribute has a relevance in some scenarios.

I understand the compromise this situation creates for low level in high tiers, but indeed we should not punish gif levels, they’ve spent more time or resources in the game so they deserve the advantage over low levels.

I respectfully disagree. I think the difference in weight and penalty therein is now higher for lower level teams. Having regulated fuel economy/burn ALSO opens up new kind of strategies, I would argue it does so more evenly, fairly and without negatively impacting other variables of the game. The net effect of current seems to be the opposite of closer racing. With each change to IGP, the aim should be to add these rules/changes without creating a unwanted ripple effects in other already well-balanced features of the game.

With the fuel max burn rate/economy being the same for all teams (similar to F1; where many of the features for IGP VERY obviously comes form) it allows all managers to experience similar car handling and behavior without being unevenly penalized due to level. Unless you will be removing or adjusting the current performance penalty for over-fueling cars; which would open another can of worms. But it just seems to be against the aim of promoting closer races and encouraging newer managers to remain active longer.

Hey Hayden,

I don't think judging without trying is the way to go. Anyway, the game should have a progression level, it's reasonable that lower levels struggle in some form against high levels. This topic is about the changelog so feedback about the update will be welcome once you try in a new topic! Thank you. :)

Yes will do. I'm hoping then you tried both methods before locking in to this path forward with no refueling w/ varied weights/economy.

May open a new thread at a later date. Or just work with whatever you guys decide. ? Thanks again!
