The current points system is extremely open to exploitation. When you have 2 competitive people in a league (which from my experience is very common), all you need to do is sacrifice one driver to benefit the other, and you guarantee a 1-4 finish and a 4 point advantage. In my opinion this is a cheap tactic that should not be rewarded.

My suggestion is that we should have the option to change point systems in leagues, allowing hosts to choose the system they want, in the process allowing hosts to encourage the style of racing that they want in their league.

This has already been mentioned in previous threads, but no comment so far from the devs

Volunteers are not informed of the detailed plans but we usually have a vague idea of the general direction in which the game is going. In conversations we've had with the staff there has never been any suggestion that revising the points system is on their radar. I'm not saying it won't ever happen, but if it does it's not likely to be any time soon.

Regarding managing the cars to achieve a 1-4 or even a 1-5 instead of settling for a 2-3... this is the first time I ever heard anyone call this a "cheap tactic". What's the alternative? Should your opponent settle for a 2-3 so that you can take the win and outscore him?

As suggested by others a couple of weeks ago when you last mentioned this ( Aim for a 1-4 finish ) moving to a one-car league would solve the issue.

Sorry, but there is nothing cheap and dirty about it

Do F1 drivers not follow team orders?

Most managers in 2 car leagues tend to focus more on one car to increase their chances of winning the race.  You can even link them so that they both boost at the same time and when you do this of course your boost decisions will be focused on your leading car.
