FOR NO REFUELING RACE

(Fuel Use Per Lap from Setups e.g. [1.94] )

X (times)

(Total Number of Laps e.g. [59 laps] )

= Estimated Fuel Use throughout the Race ;
(e.g. 1.94 x 59 laps = 114.46 est. Fuel use for the race)

[!] > Rule of thumb: 
Round up or add 10. 
So FINAL AMOUNT is 120.00 or 124.46

FOR REFUELING RACE

(Total Number of Laps Per Stint e.g. [20 laps] )

= Estimated Fuel Use throughout that Stint ;
(e.g. 1.94 x 20 laps = 38.8 est. Fuel use for that stint)

[!] > Rule of thumb: 
Round up. So it will be 40.0

Then, Add Up All The Stints ;
(e.g. 3 stints for 59 laps would be -> 
[stint 1 = 40.0] + [stint 2 = 40.0] + [stint 3 = 40.0] = 120.00 estimated Fuel Use Throughout Entire Race. 

You can add 2 just to be safe..
so the FINAL AMOUNT is 122.00

is this only for push level 3? If yes, what about calculating fuel for other push levels?

How can it be easier than this ? 

You have to multiply fuel usage by lap with number of laps and add few more liters and thats it.

You have to multiply fuel usage by lap with number of laps and add few more liters and thats it.


it’s more complicated than that as push levels and FE significantly impacts fuel use.  In your example for no refuelling depending on track and likely fuel use both your examples could massively over fuel a car and for some tracks where high push levels are required under fuel. 


A lot of experienced managers keep spreadsheets recording temperature, actual fuel use on a lap by lap basis, typical push level and FE for race.  Using this database it’s easy to see what fuel you need for given track in a given temperature and similar FE level.

There is nothing wrong with rule of thumb approaches, but one that is based purely on neutral pl will not give you close to optimal fuel loads for most tracks.  There is a fuel of thumb approach suggested by ArchieBald in one of the help threads which is much more realistic

Not quite, one calculation but you need to adjust for likely push level at each track on a given temperature.  This mainly comes from experience and keeping records.

So explain me why also with my bot adapting push level the way I do I always respect fuel predictions.

so there is no fixed value, correct?


Well there is a fixed starting point which is the fuel estimate from practice laps based on pl3.  You just need to adjust this to reflect likely push level during the stint.  


Managers who have extensive records can finish a stint with between 0.7 to 0.1l left in their tank which gives them a significant speed advantage throughout the race.  It’s more riskier so the playoff is speed vs risk, but finishing a race say 1.5l of fuel left makes you much faster than someone calculating their fuel and adding 10l without taking into account their  likely pl for the track and temperature.

I don’t need to explain anything to you as you are CLEARLY WRONG.  If you can’t accept the evidence provided that is your problem not mine.  Just to be helpful though here is another thread with a second Moderator providing the same answer!
