Would be hard to say I don't think it is possible to search drivers by number of championships won.

Here is a driver with 7 championships http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/369271

I'm pretty sure he isn't the best. His talent is only 10 and the best drivers have 20 talent. Anyway, it difficult to tell who is the best driver.

Hard to tell as many are very very similiar. You kinda hit a wall at higher levels. If I were you, I'd look through the more well-known and fast leagues such as my one Magyar F1, International GP Championship run by Alain Prost or whatever and look into the elite tier. Look at some of their drivers the managers have recently replaced and you should see some really good guys. There are 2 benefits to this over picking their current drivers: 1. You can see their stats unless someone else has picked them up and 2. They are trained as well as they can/want, as their current guys are likely to be future projects. I'll be back with a list of top-notch guys in a moment

If you want to find maxed-out drivers, look at Masut. http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/405686 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/55035 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/134590 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/55035 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/276240 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/311031 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/392873 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/148468 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/486544 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/526704

This guy is MILES off statistical best, but is the first driver in the 32 seasons of Magyar F1 elite to confirm the WDC in just 13 races out of 17. http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/526635

Looking at many guys in my elte tier, it seems best to not touch mental and technical on drivers (still gonna ignore them though; I want a maxed guy :) ) this is in the case of all these title winners (this isn't all of them, I CBA to put them all in :( )  http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/481141 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/145038 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/174260 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/512836 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/483026 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/450139 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/495963 For these, it's 19/20 PSTAD all the way.

Looking at the high-leveled overlord of this game, Nico Dudek, gave me this:  http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/530941 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/98781 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/95737 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/246 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/83331 http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/17840

And how could I forget my boy, Pichi Medina :) http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/59834

In a nutshell short, light and sweet lol
Though on different tracks using same strategy and car the taller heavier driver finishes ahead of the shorter lighter driver.
Maybe middle height and middle weight is the best driver competitive on all tracks might not always win but they will always score points.

Edit - Middle class driver 172cm 72Kg

There isn't really a best driver on iGP, and if there are any, it's very few and those drivers are likely retired.

I don't think it matters if there is a best driver or not. A superior driver only emerges if the manager knows what they are doing. My specialty in this game is managing tyre temperatures, (especially on the medium and hard compound) and it's made a huge difference for me.

Currently I am in the process of developing a driver and am still a threat to the rivaling managers in my league who have developed their drivers to their desires and I am bringing back a slim shot of winning the championship. If I win the championship I would attribute it to my live management experience. Which is bad news for the manager who is in the lead for the championship, as it would be his first.

There is something I didn't know :)

In the case of KERS, despite the rise in minimum weight some teams found their units were so heavy that it was only worth running them if their drivers were beneath a certain weight. BMW, for example, used KERS on the car of Nick Heidfeld, who weighed 59kg, but not Robert Kubica, who weighed 72kg.

I think the younger a driver is, the faster he is.
Of course, that is to say that everything else is identical. If a 25 year-old and 35 year-old have the same exact attributes (including health, weight, etc.), the the 25 year old should usually be quicker.

To me the best years of a trained drivers are somewhere between 25 and 33. Before 25 they lack experience, after 33 they often start to be show less consistency and need more training to keep up their stats. One of my drivers (Michel) basically became better as he aged towards 30 and beyond.

Aside from that there's is somewhat of a general consensus of what's good to train and what not but even then, some drivers just have "it" and some drivers are good but are the Rosbergs of the field. Good but not always that great.

And also young drivers without their full experience stat seem to do better when their defence and attack is not fully trained.

Seeing as this is very driver-related, is it a good idea to train mental and technical on my driver Pichi Medina?

I wouldn't James. Personaly prefer it as low as possible although others feel it can be trained a bit. At some point it starts to affect gear ratio's and above 75 it's not that good anymore somehow.

above 75 what? %? If so, I kinda dodged a bullet there, being on about 70% now

I can't imagine that guy being produced in the YDA...

Maybe Vilis is from the early days of iGP when the YDA didn't exist and random drivers were generated on their own?? Maybe one of the elder players of this game can chime in on why a driver is so old and has never raced.

Looking at his driver ID number (20405) he's likely from somewhere in 2012 and indeed not YDA generated. My first drivers were in the 18/19k range and I joined in June 2012.

At the moment the drivers even have 6 digit ID's so he's old school as hell. :)
