Earlier today, I was setting up for my race, and I started thinking about a potential iGP career mode. I don't know what exactly would be necessary to do something like this, but it certainly fits within the schema of the game.

I think a career mode would be like a series of beginner to advanced tutorials. Starting off with easy races at lower levels, then earning some amount of XP for each career race and leveling up to face stronger threats. This would be an optional mode of course, though those who play it would ideally enjoy more success than those who don't.

I also think that iGP should capitalize on its online race mode, as that would be the way to more accurately gauge the rankings and reputations of different players. In a league, you're only racing most of the same people over the course of a season, but public lobbies allow you to go toe-to-toe with players around the world. There should be cash and maybe token rewards for this.

As for actual league racing, I think it's good where it is. I like having a healthy competition with my friends. I just think these are two things that can be tied into the game to improve the experience.

I agree, this could open the door for so many new and great features - as you said it fits within the scheme of the game

I would say the game is already like a career. A new development won’t bring anything interesting

True ishaan. Career is like 3 stages: Beginner (Rookie), Intermediate (Pro) and Expert (Elite)

Well, Ishaan and Michele, when I say career mode, I'm referring to something along the lines of the F1 Codemasters series - a whole world of Formula One, or in our case Formula iGP, centered around you, the player. We already have some F1 facsimile names in the game after all. It could be fun to race a full season against teams like Murk, Tifosi, Red Balls-Wonder, Rednote, McLaggen, et cetera (I need more parody ideas but you get the point).

Petronia Murk OMG

Scuderia Tifosi
Red Balls-Wonder
Rednote/Chamonix (Alpine refers to the Alps and Chamonix is related to it)
McLaggen
Beta Juliet Sabre
Bond Recognition (ran out of idea for Aston Martin Cognizant)
Omega Taurus
Hands (ran out of idea for Haas)
Wellingtons (also ran out of idea fot Williams)

Bumping this thread, as I fully support it. Oddly enough, when I imagined a career mode, it was modeled closer to Asphalt 9 - but that would require time and money the devs don't have.

It's such a shame this thread got buried but I agree, honestly. A single-player dimension would certainly give players something more to do in this game.

The fact you can’t do more is the reason I play this game.  It is a distraction from the more involved, deeper and time consuming games I play.

I have a few accounts and if you want to spend more time here just have more accounts in different leagues.

I'm not saying you have to do career mode if you don't want to, but it could (eventually) be a good way to expand the depth of the game for people who are interested.

As some mentioned the career IS the league racing, you develop a car through the season, competing with other teams managing the staff and finances. I don't think the AI is good enough to compete against a real person.

I agree that the game should have "offline" content, especially to new players. Like challenge scenarios, which would help players understand specific areas of the game. Some could be released periodically and players would compete to get the best result on it

That idea about offline challenges is that bad

Maybe that's right, but why? What makes you so opposed?

I for one back Gene. What's the point of the online race feature if it doesn't improve the game in some way?

I like this idea - would really help players who are just starting out

Seriously don't get why people are voting no. It's an optional addition for people who want something besides league racing to do.
