In case this hasn't been posted yet:

When will it be possible to design your own engines?

If it's introduced, will it be for subs or non-subs (I would love to design my livery as a non-sub in exchange :P)?

Yeah that would be great. It has been discussed minorly before but I don't think it will be in the update. I think it would be cool if only the really really rich and high-ranked on this game could design the engines, then set a fee on how much customers would have to charge for it.

I will start negotiations now then. ;)

I will give you the first (2017) & second (2018) versions of the engine for free to help in the design of it, to see where improvements are needed.
If you are happy with the performance & want the newly upgraded version (2019) it will cost you 320,000 per race.
Yearly upgrades will cost an extra 100,000 on top of the starting price.
Meaning the new engine for 2030 will cost 1,620,000 per race.

Big parts of the engine, say the MGU-K, MGU-H, Turbo, Cooling, Block, Fuel etc. could all be combined from different companies. Say your Turbo was running really strong on the dyno, along with an MGU-K unit which recovered energy effieciently, but the engine itself was very unreliable, with the MGU-H being inefficient, I could buy your MGU-K and Turbo, but go to a different company for the block and cooling. Then I could go for a more oil-focused group for the fuel. Or even I could buy the actual block itself, as that may be really expensive to construct, and build the rest myself as the rest is cheaper. Or even you could only have facilities to work on Energy Recovery, so you just produce that. Have an option to make them sellable or not. Be able to spy on other people's engine construction. Hell, even build tyres. Get a facility to get oil and the like out of the ground so you can make the fuel, and even a dyno machine.

Jack, if you are reading this, please note this all down :) (To be honest I doubt you could get ALL of this in but at least try some of it :) )

Oh really! :|

Dear Mr Pinsker

I would like to point you in the direction of the small print on our contracts here at Rednote Elves!
It clearly states you must use this, with this & apply a little of this, there is to be no alterations & no substitutions!
Breaking the terms of the agreement allows us to withdraw your engine supply with immediate effect without refunds.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause & we hope you enjoy the rest of you're day.

Regards,

Rednote Elves

Sorry! but I stand with Tifosi & Murk you take what we offer or you take nothing at all :D

Interesting idea taking the best parts of each company and join them all together in the car :) It will either go vroom! or boom!

Most likely boom, in my case.

Dear Sir Pinsker,

We appreciate your offer of supplying our team with your Flame engines, but we stand by the fact that you still are not using computing technology but instead a typewriter, so we doubt your staff's competence of constructing an engine.

Regsrds,

Damnit a typo! The typewriters worst enemy!

Some random team

I still don't understand why non-subs can't use a custom livery (referring to my first post) :P

Maybe will be in new version! The pack of 5 that you can unlock with reward points should be made to do all.

Reward points?

I hope you know what they are. If not, I will elaborate.

Just checked it out...that livery stuff is still useless to me as a non-sub.

They might change it though with the new version of iGP.
Hope they add the ability to make your own liveries.
But they first need to fix the problem with the livery not changing.
I have changed mine 4 or 5 times now, but it's still the colour I had when iGP made the system backup.
Guess the backup data stops the car livery from changing! :|

I'm not sure why you'd want livery too much anyway, it's just some gimmick to make people want to pay money for this game. Not that I'm being harsh on the game's creators though, as it is just marketing.

just found this. i too am in support of custom engine supplier, and engine dev. brings another dimension to the game,

regarding livery, i would think that livery should be allowed to all, but subs would get the ability to design custom liveries.

I agree with this, the cars of non-subs (like me), look weird with a just white liveried car.
