Tried to do my strat and went for s

i qualified on m but started on s

Great. Neither I nor the competetive community know of any solution to the issue other than making sure to save strategy earlier I'm afraid, but it's easy to avoid doing.

(This next part is pure speculation as I have no evidence of this being done so far, but take it as a warning either way)
I believe deliberately manipulating this bug to gain an advantage- say, quali on SS and start on Hards from a great grid spot- could lead to penalties being applied by iGP staff under the terms of service, which forbid exploiting the game to gain an advantage.

Did you change your strategy very close to qualifying beginning?

It's a rare bug but possible to change strategy between the qualifying sim launching and the race strategy being loaded in, resulting in different qualifying and race tyres.
