The latest Grand Mafia free ad. Appropriate for children? Appropriate for anybody? Really! ๐Ÿ˜ž

Hey Malcolm,

Ads are verified by our ads provider and we don’t have any control over it. All of these are certified to be PEGI 3+.

Anyway, the best education and filter is always a good parenting method.

Here we go again...

Trying to stop immoral and vulgar adverts being shown on a game that children are playing IS being a good parent, and for that matter I seem to be the lone voice.
'Thugs bumming thugs' is appropriate for children over 3? Really? Not acceptable, not really for anyone is it?
It's happened before and it got sorted, none of the 'free' ads have had any issues since I complained about 6 months ago, but this one is the worst so far.
And you can't say don't watch the ads, other than spending a lot of money it's the only way to stay competitive in a good league because everyone is doing it.

I don't know what the age range on iGP is but most email providers require a minimum age of 13 to sign up for an email address, that Facebook and subsequently iGP require to be able to login, so yeah advertising should be 13+ because no decent parents should be creating an email account for their children under the age of 13.

I'm mildly autistic as well, i mean given there is a spectrum it's kind of a moot point. It seems the game itself has a 17+ classification. I don't think that classification extends to an advert for the game, just the game itself. Might be best to take it up with the advert provider.

Google Play shows it as PEGI 3. Latest new ad is about Werewolves. And it's no good saying don't watch the ads because other than spending a lot of money that's the only way of staying relevant in the game. That's the business plan, they either make money from the shop, or the ads, or both.

You don’t actually need a real email address to log into this game and OP’s concerns are real ones that should be addressed in some way.

OP's concern was addressed, to take it up with the advert provider or as Jose said, give parental guidance. I'd recommend Adblock plus but then that would mean no adverts at all.

A throwaway comment from you to ‘take it up with ad provider’ does not address it.

Please explain how he could do this when iGP have never confirmed who the provider actually is and anyway one player going to them would be ineffective.

IGP could raise concerns about inappropriate ads, but I doubt they will as it is an essential revenue source to them.

There would also be no point in going to the Games Rating Authority since they rate the game and the not the advert, although it does seem bizarre that it would have a rating of 3 and everywhere I’ve looked it’s 17+.  (Is OP mistaken here?)

What’s more interesting is that iGP Manager is age rated as 9 on Apple and suitable for everyone on Google which makes the suggested game being advertised as inappropriate.

It’s probably best to accept that this is mash up of conflicting standards So whatever is done/not done there will always be things that aren’t deemed suitable to someone.

Hang on, let me get this straight. Someone invites me to play a game that I'm told is suitable for children, but when clearly inappropriate adverts are being shown in the game that are an intrinsical part of playing the game because watching ads means game benefits, it's MY job to correct the issue? Is that what you are saying? Either change the PEGI to an 18 or sort it out with the content provider! ๐Ÿคจ

Hey Malcolm,

Game rating is decided by Google Play and App Store, not by us. As said, if you believe the game is not safe for your children you can always uninstall it in your kid’s device.

Who makes the decision to call it PEGI 3 then? Google?

I think some of them aren't suitable for anyone let alone children, buts I guess that's just me.
Bottom line...  it is NOT a PEGI 3 game with ads that feature violentc, gambling or sex. End of.

Someone invites 'you'? I thought you were talking about your kid. I already stated that the game was 17+ rated, and that i don't think it relates to adverts themselves so you will have to take that up with the ad provider (or the company that makes the advert itself re:the rating). Adblock is what i 'would' suggest except that i was well aware you would want to watch them for the bonus as much as i am aware of the potential that it's not about your kid at all.

Please refrain from telling me what i am saying. Had about enough of this ridiculous rhetoric. What i said was what i said, if you are unclear about what i have said then ask for clarification.. don't 'tell me' what i am saying.

I was making an illustration to make a point that it is not my job to get involved with suppliers issues and to suggests so is ridiculous. If you are a spokesperson for the game I have to accept that what you are saying is true and the game is Pegi 17. Right now on Google Play is says the game is Pegi 3. Do you understand that. I don't use anything Apple but if you look at my last thread on this subject about 6 months ago another manager stated that Apple says it is Pegi 7. That's 3 different ratings. So does anybody know which one is correct and will anybody be getting the wrong one (s) altered.
No need to get personal.

That's not true at all. The game owners are the ones filling the surveys to generate the rating at both Google Play or App Store. So the responsible thing to do is to redo the surveys and generate an appropriate rating. If you lie in the survey and say that there is no violence, gambling or sex in the game, obviously you will get a Pegi 3 rating.

I'll take your word for it but if it's true that's ridiculous. It doesn't imply that the rating is the public's at all, neither would anybody assume it was.

'Apparently' iGP Manager is rated for 17 years and over. Can anybody tell me where this is stated please, because I can't find it anywhere.

You do have to say, why wouldn't you want people under 17 playing the game? Makes no sense, it's car racing!

According to iGP Manager TERMS OF SERVICE AGREEMENT Section IIIb THE SITE AND THE GAME ARE NOT DIRECTED AT CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE

If you feel either the game or the advertisements are not suitable for your child, the simple solution is to stop them from playing it.

The game in the advert that you were talking about is rated 17+, not iGP.
