iGP Manager - Memorable Moments

My most memorable moment was peak IGP when I could run supers down to 30% at Monaco.

Dropping my team mate in Singapore which ended up costing him the title. 

Edit: in a more serious response, my first and only elite championship. I’ve only ever raced in what I deem to be the most competitive leagues and I’ve walked away empty handed everytime. My only elite title came before I started racing in those leagues.

Probably joining Project Leyendas and racing there for over 3 years. The community made every moment of it memorable, either bad or good experiences.

7th title with my 37 year old driver “Ethan Hunt” in old iconic league Discord World Championship, to send him into retirement.
Making proper mates through the game. 
iGP World Cups, including going against the iconic Italian team.
1st Project Leyendas title in S3… followed by three more over a longer time 😅

My most memorable moment is winning the UK's first World Cup back in 2022, not long after No-refuelling was introduced. We came back from 58 points down to win in the final round with some great strategy from the team, exploiting high FE to run away with an SS start :)

- Another memorable (but painful) moment was getting destroyed by Italy in the 2021 semi-final lol

And winning Leyendas in S4! But more so running the league, it's been a great experience over the last (nearly) 4 years.

probably my first (and sadly only one of two until now) win in Leyendas would be my most memorable moment to date, participating in the World Cup was also memorable

One memorable moment from a long time ago involves a manager named Berkin Unan.

Berkin Unan was a top drawer manager in the days I was still in 2 car racing, he earned himself the nickname ‘silent assassin’. on that day Berkin was driving an ordinary USA race it seemed, he was a bit invisible. After a pitstop, he suddenly comes full boost blazing up to the frontrunners train. i mean he almost blew his whole battery in that one move.  Then he hangs at the back of the train, beeing invisible again. 

Then suddenly in race chat someone goes “oh no” and at that exact moment it hit me: we were about to go for our last pitstop while Berkin was on his final stint already. It seems we all had the same “oh no” moment at the exact same time, realising he not only beat us all, he beat us, he was a full pitstop ahead.

Berkin just sat there, took the win and smiled. Honestly he deserved it, that was a masterclass from our silent assassin.

My most memorable moment was winning an ILC D1 race from last place in France in October 2023 with an Alpine. This was a crucial race for our team, but we started it as complete underdogs, with our cars in the bottom third of the field in terms of performance. I even told my half-French girlfriend to cheer for me, to see if her bond would bring me luck - and it did. That was a miracle day for me in iGP that will never happen again. The poor performance of our cars is also shown by the fact that my teammates finished 29th-30th in that race.

What's even more surprising to me is that in one of the Project Leyendas podcasts, Roones mentioned this race 1.5 years later. I'm really happy that it's not just me who still remember that day :)

My first ever elite win was back when we could run tires into the 20% range. It was full wet from pole position in china lol.
Second was creating my now dead league Premier English League. It created a domino effect into a massive igp server with over 100 managers in it, whether all of them are active in that server is another thing lol

Back in the day when engine weakness also was engine customer’s weakness and level 30 was still pretty new, I provided Chris with a project Leyendas title winning engine. That was memorable for me as I didn’t accumulate too many points in Leyendas myself 😂

The thing about Leyendas though, it’s working together with great managers, sticking together as a team, getting to know all these great guys. They are the closest thing to family you’ll find in igp

Oh and my first Leyendas race was a team Zakspeed 1 2 4 with me in 4. Was my best result for quite some time.

Winning the AOR iGP Manager - Official League that ran between January 2019 to July 2019 was one of the more memorable memories, and I remember jumping onto YouTube after the races, and listening to Justin and Alex's commentary. And giving Edd Straw the Autosport interview after that season end, there was one question I remember I had to be diplomatic!

The qualification process also stands out, you had to win a race to qualify for the league, and I remember giving my old driver to Nicholas Pressey (a friend in the game) and he goes and wins the qualification race with my old driver, in the next race! 😂 Was gutted at the time, and but also very happy for him to qualify. Nicholas also gave some good encouragement to me in the races after that, and that was motivational, and also speak very well for Nicholas as a person. I have kept in touch with him.

Regarding regular leagues, the most memorable league (and by far the toughest league at the time) was the German Elite League. Alongside the many tough managers present, I encountered the manager who I rate as the strongest manager I have raced against: Christian Horn

Incredibly consistent fast race pace, very efficient KERS usage going into DRS zones, and very intelligent team tactics with his drivers (blocks, boost outs, strategic driver priority at different points in the race)

In those 4 seasons together, it was reminiscent of the Hakkinen/Schumacher rivalry.

I remember one championship finale (Hungaroring) I came in with a 1 point lead over Christian. The relentless pace of the race really stood out. All the teams in the league had equal cars, and equal drivers at that point, yet we were 20 seconds ahead of the main group (lead by Simon DBA, who himself is a very fast manager), and in a different league. Christian used every tactic in the book, and I remember him giving one of his drivers all the KERS, and he took home the win (by just 1.83 secs), and the championship.

Lastly, another notable memory, and championship decider was in the Rubens league (Italian league)

Again, some very strong managers present in Rubens. There was one championship season and decider that really stood out. I remember having a pretty shocking season, and I was around 100pts behind the championship leaders after about Round 10/17. I then string up a few good results, and go into the finale (Abu Dhabi) placed 3rd, and 15 points behind the championship leader, Nicola Algeri. 2nd place was The Wolf, who was 8 point adrift of Nicola. I win the race with 2nd, with Nicola placing 3rd and 4th, and I won the championship by 1 point. And this was the only time I led the championship all season! Kimi Raikkonen 2007 moment, never give up 👍😊

2. Not exactly memorable for good reasons, but Falling asleep 1 lap into my first race in Discord World Championship (how to make a good impression 🤦‍♂️)

3.  Repeating 2 in next race. I quit after race 3 and raced mainly in offline leagues since.  I had some ongoing health issues, and although a lot better now still reluctant to race live in case in happens again 🤣

4. Winning my first race in Last Dance (different account).

Yes Truche! I miss the days of prime F1 World, the best 2 car league ever imo (Sorry Leo). It was a pleasure to race with you there :). I can't believe I didn't mention those Interliga seasons, that team was incredible

My Most Memorable Moments:

1. The wonderful friendship with my best friend Vlad Salin (whom I consider a brother), and know Ghost Rider (like a father to me), and my first mentor Salvo Slix—all incredibly underrated managers.

2. Winning Project Leyendas, the stamp that certified me as one of the all-time greats, achieved by playing on a phone, not a PC or tablet.

3. My first Elite podium, earned with a level 18 car, technology at level 6-7, and design at level 15-16, achieved in Russia with a female driver (just days after the female drivers' nerf).

4. My first (and only) Grand Slam in PL, which happened in Malaysia.

5. During a DWC race in Singapore, Macey told me I was overboosting; from that moment, I started improving my boost management.
