Ok so Im a bit lost on the following:
Morale- ?
Teamwork- ?
Influence -?
Feedback (Setups?)
Work rate - effort?
Talent - Drivers natural skill?
Charisma -??
Focus - the drivers awareness to situations
Composure - I think it means staying calm
bravery - willing to try risky things?

Work rate- Tyre wear, Engine wear and overall speed (multi-tasking)
Morale- Confidence
Jamie Franklin medal 5000 12 years 265 days ago
I'm not sure that work rate has anything to do with tyre wear, as my drivers have opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of work rate, and yet their tyre wear remains equal.

Agree with Jamie, but tbh part of the "excitement" or "learning" is figuring out what stats make what difference, if someone came out and explained every stat then we would all be bidding on the same driver(s) , you should be able to get a basic jist by comparing your 2 drivers both stats and results in races

If someone explains every aspect and how its calculated, it would be the end of my subscription within a minute.
How boring would that be? Its a management game, not a mathmatical formula.
I hope, a lot of things a randomized in conjunction with others - all mixes up and is just pointing in a more or less specific direction when changing things.
I don't want to have a "if you do that it happens this" - simulation. Would be completely without any meaning to me...

I totally agree.

I'm not asking for a definition. Just a sense of direction because it would be nice to know whether work rate helps with setups or on track seped.

no idea, feedback helps setups as far as i know though

The thing to do with training for my drivers. I select mental for both of them, and the attributes that get better is different for both drivers.
My first driver got aggression, while my second driver got Decision making for example.

To be arrogantly honest:
The devs have done great work with the driver abilities from my point of view.
I can think about the abilities meanng and their consequences in real life and mostly I find out sometime, that exactly that happens in terms of "pointing into that direction".
For me it works with a bit of empathy and knowledge about being a driver and which abilities are needed for what.
I could not be happier with that part of the game.

well you tell everything is according to real life, then how more talented drivers are faster? Talent should determine how good person is in training, but here seems to be fixed amount training for every driver.

Talent does nothing. It does nothing here and it does nothing in real life. Talent is the abilty to become good. It doesn't mean you are good.
Talent should set the maximum range of what to achieve, WHEN everything else is as good as possible.
Sheer talent wothout anything else is worth abslutely nothing. I am quiet sure for example, that in China live a minimum of 1000 kids under 3 years old with the talent to beat Vettel as F1-world-champion. Maybe I have the talent to become the best piano player in the world. Who knows? I don't play piano...
And: You can't raise talent. Not possible. It seems to me, you don't know the definition of the word talent.

Very interesting discussion so far.
Jack should maybe look at the terminology used in the attributes section.
Or if a driver has a good talent rating (when first hired) the rest of his attributes should be poor, and with training he gets double the attribute increase or something?!
This would probably be a nightmare to code though as it would eventually have to level out.
Something to look at in the future along with charisma, which might improve within a good team structure but not with 'training'.
So again how would you code that?!!?

If I gave my opinion here I would expose exactly how the attributes work, which would take the fun out of it. So I will bite my tongue.
Talent is something developed early in life (some would say in our genes) that stays with you. If someone with more talent and another with less talent go on to the same training later in life, we can make an educated guess at who will have more potential. :)
Some people in this thread have the right idea. ;)
Neil Williams medal 5000 12 years 254 days ago
I dont think talent is the right word for newbie drivers - top end drivers are talented.
Newbie drivers have "potential" that may turn into talent but then again might not.
Lord Alexander Fermor Hesketh medal 5000 12 years 254 days ago
I can say, that whenever I discover anything, I can explain it logically. You did really a good job here coding circumstances with facts and a bit of random and form of the day. If you throw anything in one pot, melt it and drink it, it tastes highly like you expected.
So whenever I am asking myself what could work, I start thinking about it and more or less it works. And as I am very clever, you must have done it right. *lol*
I can't praise that high enough. Honestly. Well done!
Now change that new training system back. *laugh*
Live long and prosper!
P.S.: Who does take my posting here too serious needs more help, than I can give. If that's the case, see a doctor. ;-)
P.P.S.: You can take the part with the compliments for Jack and his co-devs serious.
