any chance of being able to change tyres whilst on the grid after qualification? this would help with any weather changes if its raining, although when dry I think tyre changes should not be an option, so maybe a small window of after it starts or stops raining?

If raining it is done via advanced settings

Should be but it doesn't work though. If it stops raining after quali and before the race then your tyres auto change to dry no matter

Ashton. It's a good suggestion to enable changing tyres from dry to a wet compound or vise versa on the grid. I don't know whether or not the Devs will pick up and implement this suggestion so in the meantime...

If it's raining as you go into qualifying, you know that even if it stops raining the track will remain wet for a while so inters will be the best tyre for the first stint.

In my experience the advanced strategy fits the rain compound you selected if it is raining during lockdown regardless of the depth of water selected. It fits the advanced dry compound if your main strategy is a wet compound but it is not raining during lockdown regardless of the number of laps selected.

Assuming you're attending the race, if it's raining just before lockdown, in the main strategy for stint 1 choose the wet compound to suit the depth of water on the track. In advanced strategy select the same compound for "if it starts raining" and set water depth to 5mm. In the advanced stop raining scenario select Inters and set the laps to maximum (50).

These settings will guarantee your cars qualify and start the race on your selected wet compound if it continues to rain but if it stops they will start the race on inters. The 5mm / 50 lap settings in Advanced strategy will also effectively disable the "in race" advanced strategy allowing you to choose when to pit and what tyres to fit.

I've been using this method for two years and have never suffered from "random tyre compound syndrome" :-)

I agree with Ashton. Even the advanced settings are a nightmare to manage. 1 wet race out of 2 I start with the wrong tires... advanced settings are done for players that don't play life. Please do something for the one that connect for the races!

Hi Kevin. Is there any reason that I cannot access your guide anymore? Thanks

Hi Seb
Last week the devs made some changes to the way in which the advanced strategy works and I don't know whether or not this makes the information in the guide wrong. To be safe I removed the guide because there are many reports of advanced strategy causing managers to be put on a different compound to the one they manually selected. On occasions this makes them quite angry. I didn't want to risk adding to their frustration by giving them advice that is no longer correct.

Here is a link to the devs announcement about the changes Background changes to the race simulations
