Hey guys,

Currently new to iGPManger right now and loving it.

Just curious about how long each set of tyres last in races.

Thanks!

The SS always last the least and the H the longest. When you do practice, there will be a percent in the column before your time.
That is the percent of tyre life that compound loses per lap. By doing a calculation you can see how long each tyre will last.
Many experienced players say never to drop the tyres below 30% so lets start from there.

If the SS have a wear of 14% the calculation would be:
100%- 30%= 70%
The tyre can be used 70%
70%/14% = 5 which means that the example SS can do a maximum of 5 laps.

I hope that this helps you.

Thats will all depend on your car stats and league stats so its very hard to say. Each Track is different also.
That's why in our leagues we don't have tyre rules so you can go as fast as you want but also get outdont by strategy.

So take you time and learn the game and read all the help on the forum.  We help out everyone within our league as we want everyone fast!!

This is wrong. The percentage shown in practice is a progressive one. So on the first lap it will wear from 100 to 86 (more or less), but in the second lap you need to calculate the 14% of 86, which is around 12, and that's the likely wear of the second lap, and so on

Good someone pointed that out.
If SS tyres had 14% wear, i usually take them for 6-7 laps in a two car league. Leaving the tyres at 40% wear and 34% wear

@Carl: For the record, iGP hast leagues with different race length: 25, 50, 75 and 100%. Tyre durability differs in those leagues!

It is still useful to do the linear calculation of how long the tyre would last, even if it is not linear: The lap u would hit 0% in linear degradation is about the same were 30% are actually left. And this 30% mark is pretty relevant in 50% race length leagues as the latest time to switch.
Example: SS in practice 14% wear on one lap. ==> max 7 laps.
Actually, SS in race will be a little above 30% after 7 laps.

This quick calculation is true for all tyres. With a wear of 2, 3 or 4%, calculation is not precise. But who cares? Nobody rides a tyre 25 laps.

Welcome to the game, I am also new (14 races) and I agree completely. This game is awesome!

During my first three races I didn't know much about the game mechanics but I managed to place top 10 in them. Then I stumbled on a few amazing guides that I read and studied closely, after that I won 10 races straight :)

iGP Manager : Beginners guide (July 2017) - A very good starting guide written by one of the best managers in the games history, it is 2 years old but but for the most part still very valid.

iGP Manager : Advanced guide (July 2017) - A bit more advanced guide written by the same author as above, Joey McLane.

TIPS TO HAVE SUCCESS IN iGP MANAGER - Quite a few of useful things in here too.

10 tips to iGP, (N.F) - This is a work in progress, so we don't know how good it will end up yet. But it is written by a semi experienced manager putting together some tips based on his own experience.  His intentions are to help new players get a few tips to point them in the right direction.

Lastly and back on topic, there is a neat little application that help you calculate tyre wear and fuel usage.
Search for "IGP Manager Calculator" on Google play or Appstore (Actually I am not sure if it is available for Iphone)

Also, just a FYI if you didn't know. You can play this on PC. Go to https://igpmanager.com

Best of luck and happy racing!

I start on SS for qualifying and the start at medium push level. If my tires start to wear I lower the push level to cool the tires and get the temps down and then push the car a little more before my pit stops to change the tires.
